Best Draft of 1999
Written by:Puck In fantasy football there are two theories on how to build a great team. One way is through the draft, getting the best players from last year, or the other way in building a great team through free agents. To build a great team, it takes a combination of both, but if last year's draft is any indication, you need a decent draft in order to compete. The shocking evidence of this from last year is that the top four scoring teams (Koln, Kalamazoo, Seattle, and Rhode Island) last year also had the four best drafts according to points scored by their draft choices. Three of those four teams also made the playoffs. One thing that must be pointed out however, the Puck Bowl champion did not have the best draft nor the second best draft. Seattle had their draft choices actually score more one hundred less than their Puck Bowl counterpart Kalamazoo (ranked 2nd). Seattle can thank big free agent pick-ups Brad Johnson (104pts) and Jaguars Defense (121pts). Before you go hoping that your first draft pick is going to make or break your season, just keep this in mind, the Puck Bowl teams had a combined 37 points off their first round draft picks and a combined 628 points off their final 10 draft picks. The draft is 20 rounds, ALL 20 rounds. Best 1999 Draft
