Green Bay Fudgepackers

(Green Bay, WI) Just up Highway 41, the gossip thats been making its way through the Wisconsin Wannabes camp can be heard all the way in Green Bay. With a disappointing 4-10 record and the only team that failed to rack up 1000 points last season, Fudgepacker fans are looking for some excitement in 03and the prospect of Brett Favre coming to town could be just the ticket.

Granted, if owner Dave pulls the trigger on a trade that would lure Favre from the Wisconsin Wannabes, it wont come cheap. More of the Wisconsin media is picking up on this story; and Green Bay reporter Wayne Laravee has learned that QB Joey Harrington and RB Emmitt Smith are on a short list of possible players to be handed their walking papers.

Dave has long admired Brett from, for lack of a better phrase, a-Favre. And the idea of the legendary quarterback finishing out his career in Green Bay seems intriguing to fans who have endured losing seasons for years. The PWFFLs only publicly-owned franchise, these Fudgepacker shareholders expressed hope that Favre might inject some life into a struggling team.

"Hes getting old, but the guys a legend. It might be fun to watch him play for a couple of years."

"Part of me thinks that he might work well together with some of the guys we have now. Put Favre with Ahman (RB Green), (WR Donald) Driver, and Bubba (TE Franks), and we might be able to get something going."

"At this point, any change would be for the better."

Green Bay has often been criticized for bad management and poor coaching decisions, but a team with no winning record to speak of is bound to have some criticism thrown its way. A fresh faceeven if it IS Brett Favrescan take a team like the Fudgepackers only so far.
