Trade: Bruce, George for Moss and a 5th

[02.11.03] The Seattle Slimy Slugs and Kalamazoo Vikings came to an agreement upon a recent trade. Included in this trade are Eddie George, and Isaac Bruce, which will be sent to Seattle, in exchange for Randy Moss and a 5th Round pick in the 2003 draft.

Moss was one of the very first members of the Kalamazoo Vikings when Kalamazoo was a member and only champion of "The Tide" yearly league in 1998. During the original draft of PWFFL, the Vikings were not able to bring Moss back into the fold before they picked in the second round. In his career in PWFFL, Moss has scored 614 fantasy points for the Seattle Slimy Slugs and is ranked 6th all-time in PWFFL history. Moss has been part of 2 championship teams in his four years in Seattle.

George was a 6th round pick in the inaugural PWFFL draft for the Kalamazoo Vikings. George is ranked 7th on the all-time scoring list for the Vikings in his 4 years with the team with a combined 354 points in limited action. George has spent most of his career in PWFFL sitting on the bench behind the likes of Ricky Williams and Edgerin James when he wasn't injured. When asked what he thought of the trade, George was elated by the opportunity to recieve more playing time on a Seattle team that just traded away a long time starter.

Bruce has been with the Vikings since the 1999 season when he was picked up off the free agent wire early in the season. Bruce has scored a total of 422 points and ranks 6th all time on the Vikings All-time scoring list. Bruce saw his time in Kalamazoo coming to the end with the emergance of Horn and Boston taking away his playing time. With Randle El on the horizon, it looked as though Bruce would be riding the bench for the rest of his career. Now Bruce will be able to thrive in Seattle and will be a clear #2 reciever lineing up next to future fantasy hall of famer Marvin Harrison.

When contacted about the trade, the Kalamazoo Vikings released this press statement, "This trade allows Kalamazoo to persue some fresh legs in the 2003 draft, along with having a sure thing at WR for many more years."

This reporter had the opportunity to talk with Seattle's management and learned that they were very pleased with this trade even though they feel it may jeopardize the Slug's future by dealing away Moss and a high draft pick. Seattle is concerned with the status of George since his recent injury problems, but Seattle is willing to bet on him to shore up their runningback core with the recent departure of Curtis Martin.
