Current Projects
Pagan Unity Campaign's 2nd year was a grand success.
2002 Campaigns:
The 2nd annual I AM post card campaign had even higher
participation than the first.
The Imbolc email/fax/call-in campaign encouraged
elected officials to "support religious diversity and
tolerance".
Our Birthday card campaigns held by many of our state
chairs introduced us to our state level officials.
Lastly, we launched the So Vote It Be Campaign on July
4th and will continue it until Election Day 2004,
working to increase Pagan voter registration, and
education.
Participation:
PUC dramatically increased the number of Pagans
participating in PUC campaigns over our 2nd year. PUC
increased our Volunteer staff with 30 state chairs now
filled, and all other states and US territories being
covered by Regional Directors.
Our Goals for 2003:
Campaigns:
Our 2nd annual Imbolc-Fax/Email/Call-in,Our 3rd annual 'I AM A Pagan' post card campaign,Ongoing state level Birthday card campaigns, and lastly our ongoing 'So Vote It Be' voter registration and education Campaign.
Participation:
We hope to fill the 20 remaining State Chair positions
and increase the general participation by the greater
Pagan community in our various campaigns.
PUC Newsletter:
PUC'S Voice, our educational and entertaining
newsletter will return to the original quarterly
format, add new staff and begin to hold Staff meetings
monthly.
PUC Web Site:
Our web master has set some very high goals for the
further refining of our already informative Website.
New features will include: chat, e-cards, message
board, web counter, additional staff to assist with
these and other improvements.
PUC's Senior Staff would like to thank the Pagan
community for it's past support and participation in
our important Pagan Rights Movement work, and invite
them to continue to work with us until religious
diversity is as accepted and respected in Lady
Liberty's land of the free as She would wish it to be.
So Vote It Be!

The Pagan Unity Campaign is launching their 'So Vote It Be" voter education and registration drive campaign on July 4th, 2002. This campaign will be in place until Nov. 2nd, 2004.
PUC would like to state with a loud, clear voice that we are in fact one nation, under many Gods, one people of many different faiths, one nation united in our love and respect for freedom of religion as guaranteed to us in our honored constitution.
The Pagan rights movement is here to stay, and it is our goal to make it not only loud and proud enough to be heard, but respected enough to be listened to. We must demand that respect from our government, as one of many currently disrespected minority faiths in the United States of America.
Pagans must be educated as to the positions their elected officials take on issues of religious diversity tolerance, and other issues that are important to the Pagan Community. Also the Pagan community needs to establish itself as a voting block to be addressed in our nations political system.
To accomplish these goals PUC, will be running the SO VOTE IT BE campaign for the next 2 years. We will provide free printable bumper stickers, iron on appliqus, and button files on our website with SO VOTE IT BE logos to get the word out about how important voting is to our community. We will compile voter education records on candidates, so the Pagan community knows how each candidate has spoke of, and acted for and/or against Pagan rights. Lastly and most importantly, PUC will encourage Pagans to register to vote, so that their voices can be heard in 2004.
We ask that the Pagan Community join us in this important political activism work. May Lady Liberty and all our Gods bless us, and this great county, to become one nation, under many diverse and equally respected and accepted religions.
SO VOTE IT BE!

In an effort to develop a better relationship with our federally elected officials, PUC has developed a plan
to increase the quality of that relationship. Many communications with elected officials are adversarial
in nature and rarely make it to the official's desk. Personal, handwritten messages continue to be the best
way to address an elected official.
The point of the Birthday Greetings mailing is to present Pagans as the friendly people we are and that
the Pagan community has the ability to communicate in a non-confrontational way.
One side-effect of the Birthday Greetings is to further educate ourselves about our elected officials
and to get used to writing to them again.
What follows are the birthdays. Please note that due to the recent concerns about contaimenated mail that it can take several weeks for our officials to recieve mail.
It is prefered that we use regular birthday card that one can purchase locally. No special, one-size-fits-all cards are recommended. A broad diversity of birthday cards represents the broad diversity of the Pagan community.
Cards to stay away from would be "over-the-hill", joke, or cards with controversial content. Our point, in all things PUC, is to be taken seriously. We ask that the community keeps this in mind while communicating with their elected officials.
Participants can write a brief birthday wish on the card. We encourage participants to keep the message positive, friendly and non-political. This is a relationship-building effort, not a political issue campaign.
The message on each card should include:

Please Support Religious Freedom

On June 21, 2002 , the PUC launched the 2nd Annual "I Am" campaign, alerting government officials
of the staggering number of Pagan supporters in their districts. By unifying the effort on summer solstice,
the elected officials were bombarded with postcards and letters calling their attention to the
size of the Pagan community.
The Pagan Unity Campaign is a political action committee seeking to unify Pagans from across the
country to ensure equal religious rights and fair representation. The PUC does this through the active
lobbying of elected officials and issue reports on Pagan-friendly and not-so-friendly candidates.
We need your support!
The PUC is not asking for hours of volunteer work, hundreds of dollars or cross-country travel. Even
the busiest individual can help stand up and say "Pagans matter!"
All it takes is a simple postcard mailed to your Congressional Representatives and the President
stating, "I am a Pagan _____________."
Fill in the blank with one or several words to describe yourself. Teacher, Business owner, Mother,
Father, Student, Voter, Grandmother.
We want to show our government that Pagans represent a large voting voic AND that we range
from young to older, professionals to students to retirees. Your description is the key!
Throw "I Am" parties for your friends, bring postcards to your group meetings, leave stacks at
Beltane celebrations. Have your friends and family send cards saying,
"I support my Pagan _________________!" Spread the word and encourage participation . It
doesn't get any easier than this, folks!
By collectively mailing a simple postcard (preferably with a picture from your hometown) on
June 21st, Pagans showed representatives that we are free, proud and most of all, united.
Join us! In a handful of minutes and you can help pave the way for equal rights and respect for
Pagans across the nation.

This project will be organized to compile a searchable database of all current laws that directly affect Pagans, whether postively or negatively.
When completed this will be a resource that anyone concerned about their rights or who are simply courious about the freedoms in their particular area will be able to access and utilize in lawsuits or in their everyday lives.
If you would like to help with the organization of this project please contact us.
