Connection
12-30-2000
I know we just met, a couple months ago,
When I ordered the buffet, of cheese, sauce and dough.
We started talking on the phone for hours and hours,
That telephone line must have magical powers.
Our conversations were endless through our phone connection,
They went on and on, like the presidential election.
I know on the phone, we can only learn so much,
But through our endless talking, our hearts began to touch.
I began to love you, while only hearing your voice,
Talking dozens of hours was obviously the best choice.
We talked more on the phone which made me warm inside,
We talked for over seven hours, and then your battery died.
When I saw you at Cathy's, it was like we just met,
But I already loved you, so it was no sweat.
We talked some more and decided to take a break,
I'm glad it was brief, so my heart didn't ache.
We spent the night together, and for me it was Heaven,
I forgot the name Pineapple, and felt like Kevin.
I was awake, for over forty-two hours,
I didn't want the day to end, I hope you liked the flowers.
Christmas was an adventure, it was frantic and fun,
And then we parted again, until the year is done.
Our situation has created feelings, which are hard to explain,
It's like a mixture of hope and of joy and a little pain.
I know we must wait for a little while,
Til we're together again, and I can see you smile.
I'll be waiting with love, for you Melene,
From your happy silly fruitman, Pineapple  16
