Two Cats Found Mutilated on Playground

The bodies of two mutilated cats were found on a Denver  playground, near he playground equipment,  last week and police are asking for the public's help in finding suspects.

"One (cat) had been eviscerated. The other had been decapitated," said Tim Kingston, Boulder County deputy sheriff.   The nature of their wounds ruled out an attack by a wild animal, Kingston said. A veterinarian determined that both cats had been killed intentionally, he said.

"We took it serious enough that it was assigned to a detective for follow-up," Kingston said. "There's evidence that suggests young people who are cruel to animals end up being cruel to people as adults. Whoever's doing this needs some professional intervention."

Tim Kingston knows that anyone who could mutilate a cat could grow up to mutilate a human fairly easily, and this case needs to be pursued.

Anyone with information can call (303) 441-3626, extension 173, or Detective John Zamora, (303) 441-1760.
