| Well, I went on the Mission Boat last summer, and I must say that it was one of the best weeks of my life! I went with Sarah and Lisa and five other people. What the Mission Boat does is goes up and down the west coast and witnesses to all of the little communities that we see along the way. It's really quite fun and you do end up spending more time on the boat than you expected.You also eat a lot more than you would expect. One of the best parts of the trip for me must have been all of the people I met, including the crew members that I had never met before. I also enjoyed learning all of the nautical lingo, like saying "Stow it!" and learning that the hatch at the back of the boat is called the lazaret and the little tiny windows are called scuttles... Oh, and the bathrooms are called heads and we had two heads on our boat so I found another meaning for the saying "Two heads are better than one"! I forgot to mention that we saw WHALES!!! *Grinz* So, yah! For any of you people interested in doing a mission trip, I totally recommend the Mission Boat, it's really really REALLY great! I'll post pics of the trip later when I get them developed. |
