Omicron Chapter Bylaws - Cont.
Section 3. Post Interview Rushes/Final Selection of the Pledge Class
A. The Initiation Committee will design two callback rushes for the group of perspectives the Monday and Tuesday immediately following interviews. The entire Initiation Committee as well as all active and involuntarily inactive brothers must be present for the entirety of these two final rushes.
B. Following the Tuesday callback rush, the active brothers will cast a vote for each of their preferred prospective candidates, up to the number of Big Brothers for that semester.
C. Brothers must come to both meet nights, both post interview rushes, as well as 1 of the 2 pre-interview rushes in order to be eligible to vote after this final rush.
D. Voluntarily inactive as well as involuntarily inactive brothers are also permitted to vote for the upcoming pledge class if they attend meet night and all other required rushes.
E. In case of a tie in these ballots, the tie shall be broken based on a vote of the brothers still remaining at the time of the vote.
F. Selection of the Initiates shall not be biased due to race, color, sex, age, religion, background, ethnicity, the number of times the person has rushed before, personal acquaintance or legacies.
G. Following the selection of the pledge class, bids and rejection letters shall be distributed no later than 11:00 P.M. on Thursday of the same week.

Section 4. Selection of Littles
A. The selection of littles shall occur at a special meeting following the final rush on Tuesday night.
B. Order of Selection:
1. Members of the Initiation Committee. (In case of a tie, it shall be broken on the basis of seniority.)
2. Officers (In case of a tie, it shall be broken on the basis of the order of succession.)
3. Seniority
4. Seniority will be defined as the number of active semesters, excluding the brother�s initiation semester.
5. The Initiate Advisor has the discretion in all other ties that are not listed above.

Section 5. Initiation Evaluation
A. The initiates are expected to be at all scheduled events.
B. Should an initiate be unable to attend an event, they are required to provide a note to the Initiate Advisor/Co-Advisor at least 1 week in advance. (An exception can be made for the first week of pledging. The due dates for the notes are to be determined at the discretion of the Initiate Advisors.)
C. Any missed event will result in a warning. However, should an initiate provide a note a week prior to missing an event, the initiate will be allowed to make up only one event by participating in a long community service project with the brotherhood.
D. Failure to finish the weekly-required interviews will result in a warning; these warnings cannot be made up.
E. Should the initiate earn 3 warnings, the brotherhood will vote at the next weekly meeting to decide if the initiate will be allowed to continue the pledging process. A 2/3 vote of the brothers present at the meeting will be required to allow the initiate to continue.
F. Should the initiate fail 2 tests (i.e., 2 written tests or a written and an oral test), the initiate will be immediately dismissed.

Section 6. Miscellaneous
A. A special meeting to determine the final vote for each of the initiates will be held during the week prior to formal induction. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all brothers.
B. Before the vote is taken, the Initiate Advisor will provide information of each initiate, including the number of warnings, which were given and past comments made. The floor will then be opened for discussion in a pro/con format by the brotherhood.
C. Voting will be done individually and not as a whole. Hand or secret ballots may be used at the discretion of the President. Each initiate must be confirmed by a three-fourths (3/4) vote of the active brotherhood.
D. Initiates must pay their initiate dues by the first brotherhood meeting following Formal Induction.

Article XIII: MAJOR FALL SERVICE PROJECT

Section 1.  Omicron Chapter shall participate in a major fall service project. Every brother is required to participate in the event planned.  A committee shall be created at the first meeting of the fall semester to plan out the event.
A. The committee must be made up of at least 5 active brothers.
B. Two brothers on the committee shall serve as the co-chairs.
C. The committee is required to promote the event around the campus and the community.
D. After the event, the committee must write a detailed report to send Into USA Weekend, about the process leading up to the event as well as the day of the event.
E. The committee is entitled to write a form 110 report to send into nationals.

ARTICLE XIV: DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS OF THE CHAPTER

Section 1. Omicron Chapter shall obey federal, state, county, and municipal laws, and shall adhere to the Shippensburg University Student Code of Conduct.

Section 2. In the case that the Member falls below a cumulative 3.0 grade point average, see Article IV, Membership; Section 4.

Section 3. The Executive Board shall notify the Member accused and the official Chapter Advisor if there is to be a hearing to impeach, suspend, or expel a Member of Phi Sigma Pi. The notice shall advise them of the time and place when Omicron Chapter shall hear the case.

Section 4. Discipline Hearing Procedures are as follows:
A. The Chapter Officers may be removed from office by impeachment for failure to fulfill the duties of their respective offices. Members shall be suspended or expelled based upon the severity of the offense as determined by the Trial Board.
B. A motion calling for impeachment, suspension, or expulsion shall be accepted from an Active Member.
C. This motion must be accepted by a simple majority of the Active Members.
D. A Trial Board shall be convened to investigate the validity of the motion for impeachment, suspension, or expulsion. The Trial Board shall consist of eight (8) Active Members chosen at random and one officer also chosen at random (not including the accused), who shall preside over the Trial Board. The Trial Board shall meet within two (2) weeks of being formed.
E. The Trial Board shall investigate the charges and make a recommendation to the Chapter within two (2) regular meetings.
F. After the Trial Board has made its recommendation, it shall take a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the entire Active Membership to impeach or suspend the officer. Expulsion requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the entire Active Membership.
G. If the accused is impeached, immediate resignation from the office shall be required.
H. In the event that any brother, whether active, or involuntarily inactive during their final semester before graduation fail to meet requirements. Then he/she will be under review by the executive committee in deciding whether or not to expel the individual due to final semester lack of participation. This shall only be in effect in extreme cases and is judged on an individual basis at the discretion of the executive committee.

ARTICLE XV: AMENDMENTS
These Bylaws may be amended at any regular or special meeting by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Active Members, provided the amendment shall have been submitted in writing to the entire Chapter at the preceding regular meeting.

ARTICLE XVI: SCOPE
All former Omicron Constitutions and Bylaws or parts thereof or Chapter Governance Policies or parts thereof inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
