GTA Down Under Goes Down
Aussies ban Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. What else is new?
Continuing their tradition of banning Grand Theft Auto, Australian officials have announced that the latest entry in Rockstar's thug-o-riffic series, GTA: San Andreas, will be banned from being released "Down Under". Echoing sentiments about the game's controversial content, director of Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification (essentially the equivalent of the MPAA and the ESRB in America) Des Clark stated: "Businesses that sell or [rent] computer games should remove existing stocks of this game from their shelves immediately. Parents are strongly advised to exercise caution in allowing children continued access to the game, particularly if they have might have access to the 'Hot Coffee' modification." San Andreas had perviously been rated MA15+, but this rating was revoked.
