Nippon Ichi's Next Kingdom
NIS America brings its parent company's latest across the Pacific.
Nippon Ichi's American branch, NIS America, made it official that Phantom Kingdom, renamed Makai Kingdom, will be released in North America around July of this year. This announcement follows the success of previous strategy game Phantom Brave and the decison to translate Atelier Iris Eternal Mana, to be released in May 2005.
Makai Kingdom's story follows an exiled demon lord who sets out to reclaim the throne, but not before being transfigured into a book after burning said book and ruining the Netherworld. The offbeat humor Nippon Ichi is known for is still abundant, to the reassurance of fans, and promises to accentuate the new strategic gameplay elements added to the acclaimed strategy gameplay the developer is known for.
No date is known for either foriegn or deomestic release of Nippon Ichi's PSP outing, Makai Wars, but it would not be surprising if that title gets picked up for a US release.
