PSME Industrial Plant Tour 2001

DAY 3

Our destination, Cavite and Laguna. After taking our breakfast, its travel time again. But this time before going to Cavite, Sir Danny toured us the historical landmarks in Manila. We passed through thee Nagtahan Bridge where the EDSA Dos happened. One place that we visited was the Luneta, suddenly we passed through the Roxas Blvd., and I haave the opportunity to see the CCP, the Manila Theatre Centre, the Manila Bay, and the PICC which is burning on that day. We moved our way towards the Coastal road going to Cavite, and I saw the house of Ramon Revilla and Bong Revilla as we passed to the Bacoor Area. I thought that only in Manila faces traffic but also in Dasmarias Area. After two-hour lung drive we were able to get to the First Cavite Industrial Estates where the SCA Hygiene Products is located. Mrs. April Abarrientos welcomed us by giving some info about their plant, where she discussed the process involved in the manufacture of tissue paper. The product that they were producing are known to be the GEM Table Napkins and the Softee products. The process is simple so after the toured around, we stopped for picture taking outside the plant.

Its time to go back to Canlubang, Laguna to visit the Sanden Aircon Philippines. 1:00 when Mr Balaquiao, the younger brother of Engr. Manuel L. Balaquaio and the Chief Financial Officer approached us and giving some brief information about their plant. Their expertise is the manufacturing of car air conditioning and they don't have any contact with the car manufacturer so they were free to sell their products without any monopoly. Of course what everybody's waiting for is the snacks and as a routine outside the plant is the photo session.

>And now we tackled our way going to Greenhills, San Juan where the ex-president resides. In the Virra Mall where you find the lowest price of cellphones. Frankly to say that among the participants two were tempted to buy one (not to mention). And on my part I just simply got envy because I have no money.

6:00 p.m. our way going back to Dorm, its quite nearer but still the traffic is existed. 7:00 p.m. our last suffer because that only covered upon the agreement were being imposed. Took some rest because tomorrow is our departure date. 10:00 p.m. were the people in Manila doesn't sleeps, we tried also to be like them. I together with some troupes hang-up with bars and you what I mean.
