| Enemy or Ally? |
| The only person Rogue felt could help her was none other than Professor Charles Xavier himself! But having attacked the X-Men just a few months earlier, Rogue was uncertain to say the least how they would react to her. She was desperate however, and feeling she had no choice headed for the mansion. At this time, none of the original X-Men were around at that time (Scott was in Alaska with Maddie Pryor) and the team consisted of Storm, Kitty, Nightcrawler, Colossus and Wolverine (who wasn't around at the time) Ilyana (Colossus' sister) and Lilandra also happened to be there, along with a member called Binary. It was Colossus who answered the door to Rogue's knock and almost punched her out right there, Rogue however pleaded to be heard out, and she was allowed to speak to the Professor. Only Charles understood what Rogue was going through, but with everyone threatening all sorts of things Charles asked to speak with Rogue alone. When he called them back, he told the X-Men that he believed Rogue deserved the chance to reform and get the help she needed to stop Carol Danver's mind from distroying her. A furious Storm however refused to let Rogue be part of the X-Men and soon everyone else agreed too. Nothing though, could have prepared Rogue for the greeting she got from Binary, who arrived back at the X-Mansion. Binary sent Rogue flying into SPACE with a punch! If Rogue had not had the ability to fly in space she would have died. Never one to be pushed around, Rogue headed back to fight her. Binary was a much better fighter, but Colossus stopped her from totally beating Rogue up. Rogue was understandably confused about what Binary's problem was, that is until she revealed herself. Binary was none other than Carol Danver's herself! Carol of course wanted revenge on Rogue for what she had done, and everyone seemed to agree that Rogue wasn't welcome there. It was Xavier who stopped all this by ponting out the hypocrisy of the X-Men for having agreed to help mutants like Wolverine (who had the potential to turn wild) yet refuse help for Rogue. This got through to the X-Men who finally relented and agreed to allow Rogue to join the X-Men. Binary however refused to remain and left the team, and Rogue of course was held in suspicion for a very long time. |
