We'll we're back on the mainland....& now I'm gonna talk story about ta tings we did..........ya?
Here goes:
5/19: 1st off our flight was delayed for 30 minutes. Then we get on the plane & I have to sit in front of this kid that kept kicking the back of my seat...ugh!! I slept thru most of the flight. When we finally arrived in Maui, we were met by Tanya. Dang she was dark!! Hans & Dean was kicking it in the bar. It was just about 12:30 HT (Hawaiian Time) so that meant the Laker/Spurs game was about to start! We head off to our resort & went straight to the bar. We had front row seats to the TV. We were the only ones there yelling & screaming during the game - haha! After the Lakers beat the Spurs we checked into our cottage & head out to the beach for an hour or so. After the beach we go back to the cottage to wash up & we run into a few lil friends...THE GECKOS! Yuck! We go to the luau - it was ok, the food was good, but the girls were kinda bad......very bad. After the luau we went to the bar next to the pool & kicked it. Went back to the cottage, played some cards & we got some zzz's!
5/20 : Tak & Hans went golfing early in the morning, so it was just Tanya & I. So we head out to the hotel & have breakfast there, we had the buffet - it was ok. After breakfast we go straight to the beach & lay out for about 2 hours or so. Then head back to the room to watch the Raptors/76ers play in game 7. At 2pm Tak & Hans come back & then its off to the beach again. We had planned to go eat at the Lobster place at the hotel for dinner, but it was shut down. So, instead we went to L&L's for dinner (kinda like Shakas in Monterey Park). I had the loco moco. Afterwards we played some cards & caught some zzz's. Not much to do in Maui since everything closes early.....
5/21: I got up @ 8:30 (last person up, kinda hard sleeping w/ da geckos). We went to Dennys for breakfast but it was crowded, so we went to a hole in the wall place called "Norms". I had tried the loco moco there as well. After Breakfast we took the long drive to Hana. It was about a 5-6 hour drive & crazy Hans was driving. Roads were bumpy, unpaved & a bunch of curves. Tak got car sick - ugh! There were a few nice views, we also saw 1 of the 7 Sacred pools. Everyone else thought it was a waste of a full day....I felt bad cuz it was my idea. Oh wells I thought it was cool. We got back into the city & ate dinner @ "The House of Saimin" - I didnt like it too much, not much of a noodle person. So, afterwards i went to the market & got a bento......soooo ono! By the way the Lakers won!!
5/22: Packed up our stuff (I had a gecko sitting on my suitcase). Returned the rental car, took our flight to Oahu. There was a stewardess on our flight that was super pretty. She was a hakujin lady - she has to be the "Hotty of the Trip" so far. We arrived in Oahu & ate @ the world famous Zippys. I ordered the Zip Pac & it was pretty good. We checked into our rooms at the Sheraton Waikiki & Taks friend that he had just met in Orlando upgraded our rooms for us to ocean view. At 8pm we went to the "Magic of Polynesia" & it was actually pretty good. Plenty of nice looking girls in the show. More than the luau I'd say. Afterwards we walked around town..ate Dinner @ Peppers, went back to our rooms & slept like babies.
5/23: We woke up super early (6am) - we had to get ready for our "Barefoot Fun Cruise" thing. The bus picks us up @ the hotel @ 7AM. Tak was a bit grouchy cuz I snored last night & it kept him up. Opps - haha. We got there just in time for the bus - got to the boat & it was much smaller than I thought it would be. Anyhow, Tanya starts to get worried about her getting seasick. But she was ok after all. It was pretty fun, we snorkeled & sat out in the sun. Tak & Hans were playing around the trampoline. The cruise feed us eggs, muffins, portuguese sausage & rice....it was ok. On the way back to the hotel I got a call from Tina Noe!!! I was pretty happy since I haven't seen her in such a long time. So we decided to meet at the Ala Moana mall. We ate at Bubba Gumps - shopped forever in the HIC store. Went back to the rooms to drop off our stuff & we went to the beach. It was kinda late & not much sun, so Hans & I went into the water most of the time. We had dinner at "KC Drive Thru" for dinner - I had the loco moco of course - & I tried the "weiner on a waffle" - that was good. Went back to the room, played spades & crashed out.....zzzzz!
5/24: Woke up kinda sore today, probably from snorkeling (I'm outta shape). We had breakfast at "Rainbows Drive In" & of course I tried the loco moco there. We then stopped by Leonards for some malasadas. We drove to the Dole plantation. We all did the maze & its supposed to take about 15-30 minutes & it took me about 40 minutes. Hans finished 1st, then Tanya, me, & Tak took the longest. It was fun. On the way back we stopped for some Matsumoto's shaved ice. We stopped by Niketown & I wanted something that said Waikiki or something but they didnt have my size. Odd since most of the locals there were twice my size. Then we went to Kings Village to do some more shopping at the HIC there.....we got back to the rooms & we called it a night. For dinner I had a chili dog from the lobby cafe in the hotel - it was damn good!!!
5/25: Tak & Hans play golf again - so Tanya & I went to eat breakfast in the hotel & walked around town to do some last minute shopping since it was Tanyas last day there. After shopping we went out by the pool & got some sun. Tak & Hans got back & met us there but as soon as Tak got out there the sun went away. There goes our sun. Hes been bad luck lately with the sun. We get ready for dinner & we went to a nice steak house in the Outrigger Waikiki. I forgot the name of it - but it was pretty good. After dinner we dropped Hans & Tanya off @ the Airport & Tak & I went back to the Hotel to pack our stuff.
5/26: Got up early for some Breakfast with Tina - she met Tak & I at the hotel lobby. We ate at the beach front resturant. Had the buffet - they had curry & rice! Afterwards we said our goodbyes.....& back to LA we go. We get back to LA & had to go straight to Scotts graduation party.
5/27: It was Taks bday so we had a BBQ. Then drove off to Vegas & returned on Monday. This is the reason why I am sick today.......hahaha no rest!
