Deer Hunt 11-2000
This is where the actual hunt begins once we arrive at the land. The last few years have been a tad more comfortable because of the travel trailer that is kept there. The large boulder surround our camp fire.
Usually I camoflauge myself really well and just sit openly under a tree and then later in the day I will get up and stalk for deer. But this hunt was so wet I took advantage of the new blind that was set up along the clear cut area cause by the laying of a pipeline. You can just see it in the photo to the below left. I also get to see lots of other wildlife while out there hunting. Usually I don't see armadillos feeding together but apparently it does happen.
This is not only the season for deer hunting but also when geese start heading back south. Usually we will have several flocks pass directly over the land. The land is getting some development. We used to cross the pond here in the photo below right in just the pipes the were laiid across. But now it actually looks sort of like a bridge.
It was so wet this hunt that we fired up the tractor in order to navigate the muddy road to get to the downed deer.
