Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park

 

Because it represents a "Natural system" with erosion formations and sedimentary origin rocks. The "Sarrio" lives in its cliffs, the " Pito negro" in its woods and the "Aguila Real" and the "quebrantahuesos" dwel in this area too. Because there are more tha 1,400 different plants and some of them are endemic, because there are amphibious, reptiles, mammals, and birds which conform the Pyrenaic fauna.

Monte Perdido and Ordesa National Park is in Aragón in the North of the province of Huesca (Spain ) in the centre of the Pyrenees. It has got 15,608 ha of surface and its surroundings 19,679.

Its landscape is unique , with beautiful gorges, lakes, glaciers, caves, and the Monte Perdido Mountain (3,355m) whose slopes are full of woods where different animals and plants find shelter.


     There's human activity in its surrounding areas, its villages are small with the typical house-building , stone walls, slate roofs and the characteristic conical chimney with the so called    "scarewitch" slap. The main activity in the area is cattle, sheep and cows that eat the pastures that grow in its meadows .

    

 

 

 

 

 


 

In order to preserve our National Parl the following measures are taken : 


 

 

The policy of our National park considering human aspects is aimed at:

Offer visitors information centers in  Torla, Tella, Bielsa,Escalona,Montaña de Goriz , La Pradera and Escuain .

The centre of the " Parador" in the Park offers  facilities for handicapped people .It allows them  to have a wide vision of the park using the latest technological advances.
