Once called the Only Band that Matters, The Clash brought something revolutionary to music;  a conscience.  While most of the industry was eaten away from the inside by corruption and corporate greed, the Clash doggedly refused to sell out.  They did everything possible so that more and more people could hear their music; once in New York City, they turned a one-night-only concert into a 10 day event because of the demand.  When they released their huge three-record long Sadanista!, they took cuts out of their own personal royalty checks to keep the price the same as a one-record album.  Politics aside, the Clash created some of the greatest,  most musical punk rock in history, and their influence is profoundly felt.
