| 1. I lived in Ohio since I was born, except for a year that we were out in Virginia by Washington DC, and now live in Florida during the summers with my family. 2. I am a sophomore at Cedarville University where, after much time spent deliberating, I am an Early Education major and Bible minor. 3. After Cedarville I want to get my nursing degree too because I find it fascinating and really want to just work at a job that is making a difference. 4. In High School I ran track, was vice president of my class freshman year, swam on the swim team, was in the school play, was a member of NHS, copy editor of the yearbook, and Valedictorian. 5. I am a horrible procrastinator which makes me wonder how I managed a 4.0 GPA. 6. I've been a webmaster since the fall of 2001 and started my first "good" site that December as a project for my CSP class. 7. I am single and not sure whether I want to stay that way much longer. 8. I am a hard-core Republican, 100% Pro-life, very conservative, and of course, a Christian (I really hope I live in such a way this is obvious but fear not). 9. I've written out a list of goals for my life and have accomplished several as they are addressed every January on my blog. 10. I love to read. Always have. Ted Dekker and CS Lewis are my favorite authors. Harry Potter and Peter Pan are my favorite kids books, and Jesus Freaks is the book I always read and think "if I could live like that, I would give anything..." (hey thats a song!) 11. I love shoes, but I hate wearing them. I buy shoes for every outfit and then wear them wherever I'm going and take them off as soon as I get there. 12. I hate board games...except for Star Wars Trivial Persuit because I beat the pants off of everyone else. I bet I'd be good at Harry Potter too. 13. I owned a 2001 Midnight Blue Pontiac Sunfire named Impatience and have more soaps and such for cleaning it than I do for myself. I wrecked it when I hit a deer *cries* Now I own Phoenix Ki J, my 1999 cherry red CRV. 14. My first job was this past summer teaching preschool. 15. My favorite TV Shows are 24, Alias, Boy Meets World, Kim Possible and Two Guys and a Girl. 16. I have obtained many nicknames, most of which are retarded: Chelle, Lucky, The Zebra, Beached Whale (thanks to Tim and Billy *rolls eyes* if I become anorexic I'm blaming you guys...), Harry lover (liz's name for me), and most currently Mikki. 17. I have so many favorite Bible verses but currently love Isaiah 55, it's just so beautiful and has the entire plan of salvation and hope in those few verses! 18. I know two languages fluenty: English and Michelle-anese oh! and Pig Latin! That's three! 19. My mom has a degree in interpreting for the deaf, my dad works for Eglin Air Force Base, my brother is a graphic design artist in Germany and my sister is a freshman in High School. 20. My favorite Bible Story is Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. 21. Michael Phelps is sooooooo hott. 22. My favorite bands are Simple Plan, Starting Line, Jason Mraz, Casting Crowns, Jars of Clay, Steven Curtis Chapman and LeAnn Rhymes. 23. I do not like meat. No good reason. Just like you probably do not like Asparagus or Ocra or Spinach or Brussel Sprouts etc. Not that I like those either... 24. I LOVE Spaghetti. I could live on it. And garlic. And Mexican Food. And Cheese. 25. I sleep better when there is a thunderstorm. 26. My heros are Jesus, Eric Liddell, and Jennifer McKellar. 27. I love taking pictures with my digital camera. 28. I am known to blame everything on a commie plot. 29. BUSH ROCKS!!! And Kerry's plan for world domination frankly scares me. 30. I've visited over half of the States in the US. 31. I was homeschooled through Elementary and 1/2 of 7th grade. I think it made me smarter than I would've been since I was a very backwards child. 32. If I went back to elementary school the way I am now I would probably be one of the kids who needs to be sent to the principals office but never is because other people get in trouble instead. 33. I do not like icing on my cake...and yellow cake is my favorite. 34. I have "adopted" 3 brothers over the course of my life. 35. My eyes change color depending on what I wear. 36. I am terrified of Crocodiles/Alligators, bees, and dying from suffocation or drowning...also of walking through public showers at the pool to get to the locker room. 37. I am extremely ticklish. 38. My favorite salad dressing is Catalina but I hate salads because I don't like lettuce. It's nasty. 39. I am a movie fanatic. I've seen every movie (Even Usual Suspects, Tim!) and can quote a movie forward and backward after watching it once, which Matt enjoys pointing out for some reason. 40. I have a photographic memory. Oh the poor people who have to suffer my recounting things they don't remember. 41. I do not wear makeup except for stuff like Prom....and then I only wear eye makeup and lipstick. 42. I am very vain about my hair. There I said it. But I use less styling products than most guys I know. 43. I am actually rather musically talented (I can play the flute and piano and only ever had lessons for the flute) but I don't use the talent very often because I don't enjoy it. 44. However, I love to sing but CAN NOT. Actually I kinda think I can, but really am just to embarrassed. 45. I am not an animal person. Even though I grew up with a ton of animals, mainly dogs. I can tolerate them however. 46. I love old movies, especially musicals. I actually like all movies, even dumb ones, sometimes. (see #39) 47. I am a walking paradox. 48. I practically lived at my best friend's house Senior year. Su familia es mi familia. 49. I am a computer/internet junkie. Obviously. But I've never had a computer class. (Well I did but it was a glorified study hall where all we did was type Bible passages once every other month, seriously.) 50. I like school. I love learning. I teach myself whever possible. 51. Scary movies give me nightmares after I watch them unless I watch something else before I go to bed. The only movie that continued to haunt me was the Sixth Sense which I had nightmares about for months. Incidentally it is one of my all time favorites. 52. I am the person in my family most likely to be injured. And I am always falling. Maria once counted me falling 6 or 7 times I think....and I only saw her for 4 hours. 53. I like hospitals. I like everything about them. That's probably why I want to be a nurse. 54. Old people that I do not know frighten me. I do not have any idea why. 55. I am mildly obsessive compulsive. 56. I am a complete city girl on the outside who cringes when she steps in mud. 57. I am 100% country at heart and when no one is around I actually like being outside. I love riding horses, running through open fields, listening to country music, and wearing cowboy boots/hats. Oh and the country boys....*sigh* 58. I have a country accent I manage to keep hidden until I am tired or angry or have been around people who talk like that...like home in Florida. 59. I pick up other people's accents like no other. 60. My hearing is a little screwy so when there is background noise I cannot understand what peple are trying to say to me. However, I am moderately good at lipreading so sometimes there is no problem. 61. For the life of me, I can not understand people with Asian or Middle Eastern accents. 62. I like wearing skirts and dresses but usually wear jeans and a T-shirt instead. 63. I constantly fight with my little sister but get along marvelously with my brother. 64. My stance on the death penalty is quite confusing. I beleive that the death penalty is the correct punishment for murderers but do not really trust our court systems in finding the actual killer. I mean, hello, they let OJ go. 65. I do not support affirmative action (although I believe it did do some good in the beginning) because it is based on the idea that black people are less capable than white people which is not true. 66. I like pink. 67. I am the most gullible person in the world. I seriously want to look at the ceiling when people say gullible is written there. People like to lie to me and think it's funny. I don't think it is. 68. I am very accepting of people different than me but am also very intolerant of social injustice. But I know better than to get involved in debates over things I know nothing about. Therefore I research them so I can argue. I like to argue. 69. I am quite possibly the most stubborn person I know. I have been known to pretend to agree with someone to get them to leave me alone though. Then I go do more research and pick another fight with them. This trend continues until either I win or they wise up and stop letting me pick fights with them. 70. My favorite pop is Root Beer. I try to only drink it when I eat pizza though. 71. I am addicted to gum. 72. I am lactose intolerant but I love cheese. 73. I dance all the time but I am absolutely no good. At least I make my friends laugh....or scar them for life....hmmmm 74. Sometimes I read classics, jsut for fun. I LOVE To Kill a Mockingbird, Paradise Lost, and The Crucible. 75. I used to dream about becoming a famous author. I wrote books all the time that are probably only suitable to be the 100 page paperback "adventure books" for kids aged 7-10. But I like them nonetheless. 76. I have never seen an episode of Dawsons Creek. However I know all of the characters names and actually found out what happended in the finale. 77. I have had a stalker. He was a seventh grader but he seriosuly followed me everywhere. One day he wasn't paying attention and followed me into a Jr/Sr class and then panicked when he realized he had no excuse for being there and bolted. 78. I have had one boyfriend in my entire life. We are still good friends too, only by the grace of God. 79. My favorite president ever is Abraham Lincoln. He was the bestest because he stood up for what was right even it got him killed. Who knows what he would've accomplished if he had lived? My second favorite is Dubya 'cause he is coolio. 80. My least favorite is Clinton 'cause he was a dirty old man and a liar too. And his wife is one freaky freaky lady. 81. If I had a time machine I would: cry about the fact that if I used it I would destroy my own timeline. Rats! 82. I am actually really shy when I first meet someone and then I am really crazy. Except for my friends from Youth Group...I was never shy around them. Always hyper. 83. I have this thing against money. I hate it. It practically owns you. Grrrr. Money. 84. I have an extremely weird sense of humor. 85. When I was 3 I had an imaginary "Jiminy Cricket" that I took everywhere with me. Once I took him to the library where I screamed at a little girl who "sat on him." My mom decided to end my imaginary friend thing right then. 86. I read the entire Encyclopedia Brown Series when I was a kid and wanted to be just like him. 87. I had a giant crush on Elijah Wood when I was younger. When he became a hobbit I berated myself. I have since gotten over crushes on unattainable actors. I am instead going to marry Michael Phelps. 88. I bite my nails. 89. I like to tell people that I've taken Karate. They never ask what belt I have so I never have to tell them it was only 3 lessons. 90. Sarah is forever telling me that I say things I oughtn't. Such as probably most of the stuff on this list. 91. I collect DVDs. 92. I am extremely pessimistic when talking about my own future and extremely optimistic when talking about everyone elses futures. 93. I love the color blue and wear it every day but I really dislike green. I also like orange. 94. I do not like candles. They make my allergies act up. 95. I want to travel to England, Italy, and Greece. 96. My favorite animals are turtles. 97. I like cats but I am allergic...so sad. 98. I am very much a follower. Unless we are headed toward food. Than I am a leader. 99. If I were a tree I would be this one tree I read about that changes colors 6 times a year. Isn't that cool? 100. I like talking. Especially about myself. |

| Why "Proved By Fire"? There are several reasons I named my site Proved By Fire. One is because of 1 Peter 1:7 "These [trials] have come that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may prove genuine..." Goldsmiths must put gold through the fire to melt off the impurities, God uses the bad things that happen to us to melt away the bad stuff and make us pure. Another is because of Randy Alcorn's book Safely Home. Throughout the book one line is repeated over and over: Zhen jin bu ba huo lian or "real gold fears no fire". We are real gold, refined by God, and therefore do not need to fear anything. The third reason is that the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego is one of my favorites. Not many of us are tested with real flames anymore. They were real gold, and they did not fear the fire, they knew that God could save them, and trusted that He would. (See my blog entries "Real Gold Fears No Fire" October 6th, 2002 and "The Firey Test and a Story About Satan" October 10th, 2002 ) Combined, these examples show that we are proved to be true Christians only when trials come our way. It is through our reactions to these things that people see we are different. We are proved by fire. |
