Better Than Best Chapter 8: Justin

The guys slowly woke up and found themselves staring at the TV in the clothes they had been wearing the night before. I heard someone go upstairs and water running. A hot shower, exactly what I needed. I took my coffee and left the rest in plain view for the others. I took a quick shower and got dressed. When I went down the stairs, Mike and Mike were already there waiting for us. Slowly the guys came down and we hauled our luggage into the van and headed to the airport.

We rushed to the gate and just got on the plane before it took off. Dan and I sat together while the other guys took seats in front and behind us. The rest of the flight was pretty boring. Just before we landed, a lady who was sitting across from us turned and to Dan said, Youre from O-Town arent you?

Yes, Dan said politely.

My daughter loves you guys. She would die if she knew I flew with you. Can I have an autograph for her? she asked.

I turned and said, Sure, do you have something in particular you would like autographed?

The woman shrugged, I dont have anything on me.

I turned around and asked Mike Cronin if he had any of our CDs with him. He handed me one. I autographed it and handed it around. Dan gave it to the lady.

Thank you so much. Shell have a fit when she sees this.

Anything else we could do for you? Dan asked.

I dont want to be a pain, she replied.

Its no big deal, we love that there are people that appreciate what were doing, Ashley joined in the conversation.

I got an idea, I said. I pulled out my duffel bag and dug around for some of the extra photos I keep with me. I found one of the group and gave it to the woman along with a handwritten note I had written to any fans who I didnt have time to autograph stuff for. I kept both with me at all times because you never know when something like this will happen.

Thank you so much, again. This means the world to me and I know my daughter will love it too, with that the lady turned back to her book.

Dan turned to me and smiled. Jenna, why are you so good with people?

I dont know. I just want people to love us, you heard the article earlier. I dont like hearing that kind of stuff, I laid my head on his shoulder.

He stroked my hair. I dont like it either.

We sat there for a few minutes. The pilot got on the intercom and announced that the plane was cleared for landing. Once the plane was on the ground we collected our luggage and walked to the front of the airport to meet our vans. They took us to our hotel where we checked in and went to our rooms. We were at the end of the hall. Dan and I took the first room; Ashley took the room across from us, Trevor the room next to us, and Jacob the room next to Ash. Mike and Mike took the two rooms at the very end of the hall.

I had to check out the bathroom and everything else. Dan put our stuff in the cabinet and chest of drawers. When we were all done getting settled in we met and decided to get some lunch.

Where to? Mike Cronin asked us.

I want a burger, fries, and a shake, Trevor said.

Sounds good to me, Jacob agreed.

The rest of the group nodded in agreement and we decided upon In and Out Burger that was just down the street from the hotel. Its amazing how many different orders you can get out of a burger, fires, and a shake. I, personally, ordered a vanilla shake, a burger with no sauce, and a small fries.

We ate and joked around for a while. When we got up to leave, Mike Morin told us that our next stop would be the recording studio to remix All or Nothing. We were doing the single for All or Nothing which would include two remixes of it, a remix of Liquid Dreams, a live version from a show we had done earlier that month of Take Me Under, and a bonus track called We Fit Together. It was very exciting.

We got to the studio and joined forces with a professional remix artist and a studio technician. Jacob and I would have the honor to do the first remix of All or Nothing which I was psyched to do. We got right to work replacing the background music and adding sound effects. We had a blast. The finished product sounded so good.

Dude, thats dope, Jacob said to me after we heard it for the first time.

I smiled. We did it. Its sounds so tight.

Good job guys. Thatll be the HQ2 remix, the remix artist, Tony said to us.

We high-fived all around and left the studio to find the other guys. On our way out to the van, my cell phone rang. I answered it.

Hello? I asked into the phone.

Hey Jenna, this is Justin Timberlake from *NYSNC. I just heard a song that you did with your group O-town and I was wondering if youd like to work with us on a song.
