�Better Than Best� Chapter 16: TRL It was a quiet flight. Maybe it was because it was past midnight; maybe it was because no one really wanted to talk. Either way I liked the quiet. It gave me time to think. Really think about what I wanted in my life. I knew O-Town was what I wanted, and that Dan was who I wanted. Other than that, I was pretty much used to change and took it in stride. You couldn�t throw something at me that I hadn�t already been through or that I couldn�t get used to. When we got off the plane, the airport was deserted. More quiet and time to think. Mike took us to another hotel and we crashed. The next morning I awoke and realized why I was there. I dialed Mike Morin�s cell number and waited for him to answer. �Hello?� �Mike? How�s Dan doing?� I asked hoping for the best. �He�s doing okay,� Mike replied. �Tell him that I love him,� I said. �Okay, will do Jenna. I�ll talk to you later,� Mike said. �Bye Mike,� I hung up the phone. After I took a shower and got dressed, I met the guys. We didn�t have anything else to do except hang out until TRL. Ashley and I watched TV while Trevor and Jacob played some kind of game. Mike Cronin was busy making arrangements for us. Ashley leaned over. �Jenna,� he whispered in my ear. I faced him. With my eyes I told him that I was not in the mood for him trying to cheer me up. �I just want to tell you that I love you,� Ashley said. �Really?� I asked him. �Yeah. And I think Dan�s about the luckiest guy cause he gets you,� Ashley blushed and turned back to the TV. �Anyway, I just want you to be happy.� �Thanks Ash, that means a lot to me,� I faced the TV too. �Anytime,� Ashley replied. When it was finally time to go to TRL, I wasn�t the least bit scared or nervous. I wanted to get it over with. We waited in the back until it was time for news. Carson Daly spoke. �The last time we had four out of five band members here, AJ went to rehab. Please welcome Jenna, Ashley, Trevor, and Jacob of O-Town.� The crowd didn�t scream or cheer, they gave us a humble applause. We sat across from Suchin and Carson. Suchin started the questions. �We�ve all heard the rumors about Dan Miller. What is your comment?� Jacob spoke up first. �Dan was hit by a drunk driver last night and is in the hospital in serious condition.� �He�s very weak, but responding well,� Ashley added. �What about your tour? Will he be better by then?� Carson asked. �Our tour is cancelled until he is ready to perform,� Trevor said. We heard a collective sigh from the audience. Trevor kept talking. �We�re more concerned about his health and well being right now. We can�t expect him to go onstage and bust it up when he�s in such bad condition.� �Any idea how long he�ll be in the hospital?� Suchin asked us. �Until he is strong enough to walk out,� Jacob said. �Anything else?� Carson asked. �We appreciate the support of the fans. Thanks guys for understanding,� Ashley said. �Jenna? Do you have anything to add?� Carson asked invading my thoughts. I thought for a second and said, �Dan, I love you.� Without even being in the same room as him, I knew what his response was. �I love you too.� We left the show after that. We went back to the hotel to collect our stuff and then we got on another plane and flew back to LA to be near Dan.
