Hi, A warm welcome to Filtered Vision! If you have come here from my Paintings Gallery, thank you so much for following the link. If you are a new visitor, I'm equally grateful for your presence in here.
I am a painter based in Kolkata, India. If you wish to learn more about me, here is a link to my paintings page. Photography is only a hobby for me, at least till now, although I can see it as an extension of my vision as a painter.
Dew drops
I had purchased a small prosumer compact digital camera in 2007, mainly to quickly get my paintings into the computer, which also set me on to a course of recording stuff other than my paintings. The immediate feedback you get from a digital camera can be a wonderful teacher, and the novice photographer rightaway begins to marvel at the beautiful world around him.
This is partly because of the 'macro' feature, which enables you to get high magnification at extreme close up, and partly because of the camera's ability to adapt to various light conditions. I love my Sony since it allows me to play with varioius settings which tailors the results to my taste, without having to depend on the boring 'auto' settings.
Please take a look around, I am delighted and proud to be able to share my vision of the everyday world with you. The Favorites section is where I intend to display some of my favourite pictures from the gallery, for a quick reference of what I think are the best works.
