In sharing my thoughts in this letter, my AIM is to slow all down! Repentance is just that: slow down, then turn around and go back to see what God is saying in His Word!
Some of what you will read will remind you of what you already know� slowing you down. Other explanations I will give will cause you to question my understanding. This will not so much slow you down but STAND YOU UP! Either way, you should have some understanding of what �falling away� means as it will come before all of us, especially our children in the days to come.
What is this FALLING AWAY spoken of in the Bible? It is the abandonment of a way of moral life, giving over to idolatry, in that religious ritual has given over to and allowed all matters of SIN into Church Fellowships. In other words, in order to keep the ritual of �Having Church�, men (not God) have filled all fellowships with men whose mind-set is given over to �Having a successful BUSINESS� rather than confirming the principles of God in Christians� lives so that all of you can see and experience the Kingdom of God within you. Having seen and experienced the Kingdom within, you can begin to see that God ONLY has one Church Family that is the BODY OF CHRIST.
MAN�s IDEAS (Religious Ideas on how to serve God), as taught by the Apostle Paul, would turn men to division or designing their �own church�. Because of their division, �followers� would suffer. Now, having experienced all this �confusion�, many have no trust in Religion (leaving church) and, in time, God Himself. This is beginning to happen and it is a Falling Away!
I am amused at the TV commercial when it presents the Ideal: �What�s in your wallet?� A better question is, �What�s in your heart?�
So in this long presentation, I will be asking you to open your HEART and MOVE your faith by hearing God�s Word, attending to your heart! TAKE time to attend to that Word of God for yourself so that you might gain further Knowledge.
Our question should be: �In what MANNER do Christians LIVE?� �Not what Religion do they belong to?� Note the word manner in the following scripture.
