Mililani High School

2002-2003

The 2002-2003 school year marks the sixth year of Mililani High School's involvement with Project Stewardship.

Rain or shine, Ms. Sandy Ingraham's students show up for field trips ready to make a difference at their school's plot at Honouliuli Preserve!

This year the students' plot is located in Kaluaa Gulch on the northern end of Honouliuli Preserve.

Students are shown here hiking along the trail to their plot through the dense Christmas berry scrub.

Since September 2002, Mililani students have spent time in class and at Honouliuli Preserve learning about Hawaii's precious environment and  what they can do to help The Nature Conservancy protect our natural resources.
They have also helped out by adopting a plot, mapping and monitoring its conditions, and removed invasive alien vegetation.
Their final step was to restore Native Hawaiian vegetation to their plot by out-planting seedlings.
