Warning!

Automotive mechanics can be rewarding and enjoyable.

It can also be painful, injuring, and sometimes deadly.
When working on your vehicle, we urge you to follow some basic safety guidelines:

1.) Wear your safety glasses! You can't enjoy your new conversion if you can't see to drive!

2.) Ensure the vehicle is chocked or otherwise immobilized whenever you are jacking the car up. Understand that this does not apply if you have four jack-stands and are putting the vehicle "up on blocks" to do your work. If you ever leave wheels on the ground while lifting others, chock the wheels that touch the ground!

3.) Have a well fitting pair of gloves to wear. Taking a sizeable chunk out of yourself due to slipping wrenches or tools can be a serious cramp in your progress. Not to mention it hurts!

4. )Keep cigarettes, electric appliances such as drills, and any exposed light bulbs away from where you do your parts cleaning. The carb-cleaner or brake-cleaner that most of us use to de-grease parts has explosive vapors!

5. )Do not attempt any part involving heavy lifting yourself.
Even if you have an engine hoist, installing an engine while no one is around is a recipe for disaster.

Staying with these simple and common-sense guidelines will keep you safer, and show your shop guests and fellow car enthusiasts that you know your stuff.
