TIPS
Here are some small things you can do at home to save power. They may not seem like much, but encourage your friends to do the same and a lot of energy and money will be saved in the process!

1. Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
2. Switch off video games when you're done playing.
3. Keep windows and doors closed if an air conditioner is running.
4. Close the curtains just before it gets dark to trap in heat and save heating costs.
5. Talk to parents about replacing lights with energy efficient bulbs, or even investing in solar powered lighting.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Knowledge is the Answer

"I have absolutely no doubt that children are leaders where environmental matters are concerned. They have the power to educate their parents as decision-makers and change what's happening at an individual level." - Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Executive Director, UNEP.

No matter who you are or what your age is, we are all citizens of this world. As these modern times give youth a stronger voice, we must not waste any opportunity we get to make a difference! Here is what you can do:

1. Be informed!
It is very important to understand what is going on currently before you can do what you can to make changes in society. As young people, it is important to spend time thinking about what we can do to change the world when we become adults. This website aims both to inform you on what is going on, and to be a place where young people can discuss their ideas and make them happen! Click here for a list of fun and interesting websites, providing more information on energy and energy conservation.

2. Discuss ideas with others
It is good to talk to other young people about what we can do. Anything can be achieved through talk! The Forum is a great place for this.

3. Get involved.
Turn up at rallies, write to local council representatives, editors of magazines and newspapers, etc. Click here to contact organisations which you can join.
