Research and Teaching
My main research interests are in cognitive psychology and behavior analysis - in particular how the contents of our mental states figure in explanations of consciousness, information, implicit belief, and perception. In general I defend a version of externalism, which is the notion that the contents of many of our intentional mental states are physical properties of objects in the external, physical world.

Last Autumn quarter I taught Dynamics in the Fine Structure of Experience-Controlled Behavior. At Miskatonic I have taught courses on Consciousness, Introduction to Space and Time, Metaphysics of Leibniz, Introduction to the Theory of Knowledge, and Psychological Issues in Connectionism and Behaviorology.

At the University of Pennsylvania, I pursued research in psychology of mind and cognitive realization of fear.

At Miskatonic I taught tutorials in psychology of mind, history of psychology, and applied psychological states of ancient civilizations, and a graduate seminar on predictive dreamwork.
