| Hidden in his dark corner, Strider witnessed the keyring slip onto Frodo's finger. He watched as Frodo disappeared, but only he saw the microscopic toy car that had replaced Frodo. He saw the car reform into the young hobbit against the wall. Before doing anything, he made sure that Frodo was cute and cuddly, before grabbing him and whisking him off to his room. |

| Strider: "You draw far too much attention to yourself, Mr. Underhill. All that slutty clothing and fancy hairstyles. It really leaves you horribly conspicuous." Frodo: "I was about to ask what you want, but I'm not sure I want to know." Strider: "A little more caution from you is all I ask. That is no trinket you carry." Frodo: "You're damn right! I'll have you know that my undercarriage is twice the size of-" Strider: "I'm talking about the key!" Frodo: "....I carry nothing." Strider: "Indeed. I can avoid being seen if I wish, but to change into a minature toy car - that is a rare gift" Frodo: "Who are you?" Strider: "You have a stout heart, and a stouter- You have a stout heart. It will not save you. You can no longer wait for Gandalf, Frodo. They are coming. Listen." Strider and Frodo look out the window to see 5 Keywraiths rolling along the street on some sort of device. The 5th one seemed to be dancing a little on his roller. Keywraith 5: quietly "I'm bad to the bone! Dadadum dum dum; bad to the bone.." As the Keywraiths enter the wrong tavern because of Berethost's notoriously bad sense of direction, Strider and Frodo gather up Frodo's friends and leave Bree. |
