Undoubtably I am one of the greatest fans of modern day Bengali music. My love for the so-called "Jibanmukhi" songs started in the early 1990's when I first heard Nachiketa in his mesmerizing tune of "Nilanjana". Since then it was no looking back with Suman with "Prothomoto aami tomakey chai" n then Shilajit and Anjan Dutta. Then came the era of Bengali band music with Mohiner Ghoraguli,Cactus and Chandrabindoo rocking the youngsters of Kolkata. Still now am an ardent fan with new bands like Parashpathor,Shahor,Lakkhichara,Fossils and Bhoomi coming in.

In the net I have found that Bengali rock music means only Bangladeshi rock. Looking at them it seems that Bangla Band Music only means our counterpart in Bangladesh. Though I too love the tunes of LRB,Miles or Feedback , I still feel Kolkata Band groups should come up and let their presence felt in the net. Some of the links for Kolkata Bangla Band Music.
