These bugs are cheap and can me mutated to fit any situation. Give them range weapons or tool them for HtH. Add in leaping and you can have a force to spearhead any assault. Add rending claws and leaping these bugs can fight right besides your guants in HtH and jut about rip through the enemy. Trough in the mutation to increase initiative and this swarm can be very dangerous. My Hive has two brood of warriors, Brood 1 with 3 warriors with rending claws and leaping. Brood 2 with 3 range attacks.

One trick I have seen is mutation the brood by adding weapon beast. Typically you can only have 1 Barbed Strangler or Venom Cannon. But with weapon beast you can increase this number. These bugs can also be mutated to increase Strength by 1, making the bio weapons more effective. BS can also be increased adding to the lethalness of the brood.

Heavy weapons as the most effective against these bugs. High strength weapons and low AP are the best to use. These bugs can be mutate each time you face them on the battle field. Meaning you can never tell what you are up against till it is to late. Luckily the best that he bugs can increase their armor to is a 4+ save. Meaning bolter fire is still dangerous to them. Watch out for the Assault brood, with a strength 5 rending attack your Amour is in jeopardy.
