 Tactics for the Tyranids:

Hide these bugs close the enemy deployment zone to get the 1st turn surprise attack. This can be used to stop unit advancement, tie up a weapon team or get rid of those pesky tanks. If used wisely, you can take out the whole 1st turn shooting phase of you opponent (at least the majority of it). Citing an actually occurrence, one well place lictor tied up the front IG squad. This eliminated the back ranks from shooting (Heavy’s) the fist round, allowing the Monstrous Creature to close some ground.

Lictors are good for getting to those tanks. With Rending claws and strength of 6, this bug can make short work of any tank. But remember, placement is Key. If the lictor is place in the wrong spot it can spell disaster.

Tactics against the Tyranids:

Set up away from cover. Remember the lictor has a 6" assault move. Setting up 6.1" back from the deployment line can eliminate the lictor 1st turn assault. Also key, the lictor must be hidden in cover. Knowing your enemy strength can be you advantage.

Auspex should be taken or equivalent equipment depending on the race under your command. Used correctly, the lictor can be turn to a fine oozing mist and turn the tide of war in your favor.

Remember to study the enemy, know them better then they know themselves.
