i've been thinking long and hard about this section of my website.  so many other things seem to take precedence over me thinking and pontificating on the subject of goth, the gothic culture, etc.   things like my own mortality, my music interests, etc.  so this section has been left to whither on the vine, which might not be too fair.

so i'm going to try a little harder to put stuff here too...whether it's as simple as some artwork, links, thoughts about things that may/may not be connected to the culture, etc.  it's going to be a hodge-podge of stuff, but as i am fond of quoting from new jersey poet walt whitman, 'i am large, i contain multitudes.'

i want to be able to write pithy, piquant, important essays about things like the tragedy at columbine colorado over 2 years ago.  i want to do this because of a chilling and hard to get out of my mind remix of a song by the cruxshadows, which i quote on the 'i'm not a goth...' page.  the song is called 'leave me alone,' and the remix, which can be found on the mp3.com radio station hidden sanctuary, interpolates the regular song with clips from news broadcasts connecting eric harris and dylan klebold to the gothic culture...about how goths engage in 'blood sports'...how goths like to kill people...but i can't.  i find myself too upset and affected by what the remix is to be able to write about it clearly...or to write about the subject i want to write about.

i want to write about tolerance.

i want to write about hatred.

i want to write about life and death.

i want to write about being 'gothic' and being a parent.

and maybe i will one of these days...hopefully very very soon.

but for now...well...
