about priyatu.com

This is the end of the world,
One more step, and the ground falls off.
I am the king of this world,
And I reign alone- far off.

priyatu.com is an extension of my identity. Like I have a telephone number, perhaps a girlfriend, a family, an email id, similarly I have this website. How this website can be a part or extension of my identity can be gauged from the fact that I mention my website's URL alongside my other contact info. And I am proud of this identity. I am fortunate. I am among only a few of those people who have a website of their own- a very small minority when one considers how many people don't have their own personal websites. I am a part of even smaller minority when one considers India, where the Internet penetration is dismal. In fact, if not the first, I am certainly one of the first in my university to have a website of my own. I am the only person in my class to have my own website- and not only that: I have two associate websites created by me- Ashpalace and JU Forum. While this site has given me nothing of substance, it has given me enough cause for pride.

priyatu.com was first uploaded on January 1, 2001. A few months older attempt had to be aborted due to some technical and design flaws, and the project was languishing, until a new zeal entered with a conversation I had with a girl. Within a month and a half I came out with priyatu.com, and since then it has been a case of constant slogging. How aptly I feel that making a website is nothing like writing a book- you write a book and forget about it; the job's done. But creating and maintaining a site is like bringing up children- you have to take care of them each and every day. And here the children never grow up. priyatu.com is a persistent passion that never leaves- I design one page and the very next moment I feel that the design is not quite up to the mark. Then I discard the design, and start anew. And this process never ends. If anyone has consistently followed the evolution of priyatu.com, he or she will testify to the fact that how many design changes this site has gone through since its inception.

priyatu.com will come with a full feature About section shortly.
