Reasons for Seasons
    I simulate sunrise and sunset for different times of the year for the Bay area, the equator and the polar regions. Being able to track the sun's path accross the sky in Decemeber, March, June and then September really brings home the reasons for seasons!

     I provide a basic introduction to the night sky, focusing on the major constellations visible from the Bay area, and how to identify them .

Stars and the stories they tell..
     I identify some of the major constellations and share stories about them from diffrent cultures around the world. It is a wonderful oppurtunity to demonstrate how humans who had no contact with each other not only picked the same stars for constellations, but made up such similar stories about them!
