Wanderers in the Sky

Join me in an unforgettable journey to the Solar system and beyond. This presentation is a fascinating introduction to the family of the Sun: the sun, the (now) eight planets and their moons, and the asteroid belts. With insightful questions, everyday examples and magnificient pictures taken by many of NASA's great observatories, the children are introduced to a variety of  important scientific concepts including gravity, days and nights, years and seasons, collisions, and  even the  greenhouse effect! For example, its interesting to see how X-ray imaging, commonly used to look inside our bodies, is also used in modern telescopes to observe the sun during bright daylight. Another topic that I discuss is how studying other planets can teach us about the effects of global warming!
