At MAKING INDIA GREEN, we hope to provide Indian consumers with information and practical advice that will allow them to make informed choices and help them change to more sustainable consumption patterns.

In this era of globalisation, we feel the need to question our environmental priorities and consumption patterns, and the increasing tendency to prefer consumerist lifestyles over frugal and simple Indian living. We hope to highlight the fact that "green" choices are often more economical, both for the consumer and the environment.

Our goal is not only to make the Indian consumer aware of available "green" choices or appropriate technologies, but also to separate the facts from the hype of misleading or confusing claims in the form of arbitrary labels, like "green" and "eco-friendly."

We believe that increased consumer awareness will prompt greater environmental accountability in Indian industry that will ultimately translate into benefits for the Indian consumer and the environment.
