| Surrendering to the Moment
Willst thou trample me
Under a thousand hooves,
Pounding in the yellow desert heat,
While sand storms spawn
From the cirrus-streaked sky,
Penetrating to the navel of the Earth.
Your perfume wafts
Dolorously from Sheba,
Violating my inner sanctum of memories,
While an ethereal emanation
From the lips of a Siren
Weathers my chalcedony plate to shreds.
Amidst the vultures
Encircling in multitudes,
Vermillion tides swept you ashore,
While my courage collapsed,
Buckling under the pressure
Of the cacophonous din of the beach.
Sweeping back
Jarring reminiscences
By a corpse-infested monsoon tide,
While feeling numb,
Bored with arcane demands
Of the inhibiting conscious intellect.
Yearning for release,
From this throbbing death,
Let my mind float free on a parvis breeze,
While the creature within,
Primeval and impulsive,
Surrenders eagerly to the poignancy of the moment.
