Paranoia
My heart beats with dread,
And beads of cold sweat
Drizzle down my forehead,
Down my cheeks, pale,
Pallid with the apprehension
Of that stifling moment.
Gasping for precious air,
Trapped inside the dragons lair,
With my soul in dire straits,
On the nearing shore my fate awaits.
Haunting thoughts conjured
By those long-tortured
Recesses of my mind,
They surface once more.
