Take the scalpel and wield it
A flick of the wrist
Spills me open naked

Take my heart and dissect it
Tell me it’s only
“In-te-res-ting” ... I’ll believe you

Take my wounds and suture them
With barbed wire
And prescribe painkillers

Take my corpse and bury it
In a body bag
With a stake driven through

Take the morgue and burn it
Build a new
