“Angel in the Mist”

Angel in the mist, object of my love,
Everytime you dissipate at my touch.
And all that remain are the four blank walls
Staring at me in laconic silence.
How to conjure that illusion once more
How to bathe my soul in your sweetness
Bask in mellisonant reveries
Of your ravishing portrait

Angel in the mist, object of my love,
Melt away not into the haze,
I need your guiding light for another day.
Pray, I beg you, stay my dear.
Let not my plea fall on deaf ears!
My supplications reverberate on concrete,
Their message lost amid the indifference
Of stone and the apathy of whitewash

Angel in the mist, object of my love,
If you must depart, then so be it.
But remember me, remember me!
Perhaps one day you shall submit
To me, who loved with a love unreal
Then these self-same walls
Shall bear witness to our requited love,
And our hearts shall soar on wings of dove.
