Favorites in my CD collection
The Dance, Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac regroups for a live performance of a number of old classics and new additions with a late-nineties twist.
Top cuts: Dreams, Temporary One, Sweet Girl.
OK Computer, Radiohead When it comes to conveying a mood of desperation and depression, no other band comes close to Radiohead. At times melancholy and lethargic and other times frenzied and furious, Radiohead delivers a tour de force with a (I think) rather sarcastic set of liner notes.
Top cuts: Paranoid Android,, Climbing Up the Walls, Lucky, Karma Police.
Garbage, Garbage As an avid fan of anything and everything by Garbage, I would suggest also their sophomore album Version 2.0. However, their debut embodies more artistic quality than their follow-up, with its sexy, suppressed style and sultry intimacy, although it's not as readily accessible.
Top cuts: Supervixen, Stupid Girl, Fix Me Now.
Ten, Pearl Jam If you don't already have this classic, get it! The album features a set of songs that are raw and compelling, delivered from one of the few quality bands of our time.
Top cuts: Jeremy, Once.
This Fire, Paula Cole This is a great album with varying sounds woven together by a central theme. Paula Cole is an impassioned singer and songwriter who definitely makes her presence felt.
Top cuts: Tiger, Missisippi, Me.
Mcmxc A.D., Enigma A great relaxation album containing a number of mind-numbingly refreshing, ethereal, and erotic tracks. If you are looking for the album that will truly take you on a musical journey, your search is over, because this is the ultimate experience.
Top cuts: Callas Went Away, Mea Culpa.
Mer de Noms, A Perfect Circle Dark, muted aggression coupled with masterful vocals. This album represents riveting sophistication at its best!
Top cuts: Magdalena, Judith, Renholder.
