| Toby lets CJ cry for a moment before pushing her away from him and looking her in the eyes. "CJ, what's wrong?" She wipes her eyes and looks up at him. "I just...we are so close now, and I'm gonna have to go to...we can't be together, even now!" He wipes her tears away with his thumb and kisses her gently on the lips. "CJ, I have waited twenty years to tell you that I love you. We can be together now now matter what. I promise, no matter what happens, I will not let you go again." She smiles as she starts to cry harder, wanting to believe him and yet knowing that things cannot work out this time around. "You have to, Toby. I'm not going to be here. I have to go away for a while." He nods, understanding what she's saying. "You're responsible for the leak, aren't you? And you're turning yourself in." She nods. "I was upset because I knew that we could help them! President Bartlet can save their lives in an instant, and he won't do it! So I went out with a reporter friend of mine, got drunk, and told him my deepest darkest secrets. I need a day to take care of some things. I want to get my affairs in order so I don't lost my part of the vineyard in Napa and Daddy's house in Dayton. Then, I'm turning myself in." He pulls her close. "Everything's in your name, huh?" She barely nods against his shoulder. "Tell you what, CJ. How about we blow off work tomorrow and go see a Justice of the Peace. We can get married and put everything in our names, and then you can turn yourself in knowing that I would never let you lose anything you love." She pulls away, frightened. "Toby, I'm not trying to make you marry me! I just don't want to lose the few things my parents left me." He smiles. "Who said you're making me? I want to marry you, CJ. I've always wanted to marry you." She smiles seductively. "Well, then yet, let's get married tomorrow. I'll let you take care of me for once in my life. But, I don't want to turn myself in tomorrow. I want a honeymoon, even if it's only for one night." Toby smiles. "Who says honeymoons can't start the night before the wedding?" She smiles as he takes her hand and pulls her towards the bedroom. "And, Toby, thank you. I love you." He smiles and pulls her closer. "I love you more." |

| Toby watches CJ from his place beside Andi at the reception. He hasn't had a chance to talk to her since her plane came in yesterday morning. When he called to tell her about the wedding, he had every intention of asking her to be his best man. He mentioned it to his sister first, and his sister hit him across the back of the head and called him a heartless son of a bitch. He thought better of it and didn't mention it to CJ when he called her back the second time. So he's watching her dancing with his brother, David, his best man, and has a smile plastered on his face so his guests can't tell that his heart is dancing across the room with his brother. He sees the pain in her eyes when CJ finally comes up and introduces herself to Andi. She gives Toby a hug because it is what is expected, and then he watches her walk out of the party on David's arm. Toby can tell from the look in Andi's eyes that he's going to be the only groom in history who spent his honeymoon sleeping on the sofa. |
