| Toby and CJ walk into the White House at seven thirty, looking suprisingly well put together despite the fact that they lost track of time and had to rush to get ready. She's wearing a red dress that he promised her he would tear off at the end of the evening, and he looks dashing in a tux and red tie. "A couple that dresses together, stays together," he had said. He stops walking and turns to hiw wife before entering the East Room and shocking all of their friends with their news. "Are you ready for this?" She gives him a shaky smile. As happy as she is right now, she can't help but be nervous. The Bartlet's reaction last night is still fresh in her mind, and she can't help but think that everyone in the East Room will have the same reaction when they hear. "Yeah, Toby, I'm ready. I love you, now let's go tell our friends!" Toby quickly kisses her hand. "I love you, too, now let's go." | ||||||||||||||
| The couple walks into the room and surveys the crowd. All of their friends are there: Sam, Ainsley, Leo, Charlie, Zoey, Josh, Donna, Will, Annabelle, Danny, Andi, Margaret, Bonnie, Ginger, Carol... everyone that they've worked with since the beginning of Bartlet's administration. Leo even brought Jordan, and Nancy McNally and Kate Harper found their way out of the basement. They are all standing around talking, not even noticing CJ and Toby as they make their way through the room to stand with the President and First Lady. "Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Zeigler," the President whispers with a smirk. "Jed!" Abbey glares at her husband. "Good evening, Mr. President, ma'am. I think it's only fair to warn you now; CJ's keeping her last name professionally and has told me not to call her Zeigler in the White House. You wouldn't want to upset my wife, sir." Jed shakes his head. "No, we wouldn't want to do that, Toby. Are you guys ready for your big announcement?" Toby and CJ nod and she takes his hand in hers. He gives her hand a quick squeeze to reassure her as the President turns his attention to the crowded room. | ||||||||||||||
| "Excuse me, everyone! Can I have your attention, please?" The room gets quiet and everyone focuses on the President, for the first time noticing CJ and Toby standing by the First Couple hand-in-hand. "I'm sure you're all wondering why Abbey and I have called you here. It seems we all have something to celebrate. Now, I'm not talking about Leo agreeing to be our next Vice President, which is reason enough to celebrate. No, tonight we're here to celebrate life and love. Two people who are very close to all of us have finally figured out that no one else in the world would have them and have decided to go through life together. Yesterday, Claudia Jean and Toby were married!" | ||||||||||||||
