Her singing is just terrible. It's digitally altered, and she also has a back-up track. I've always liked Michelle Branch, but now, I like her ever more, because of this(it's a quote from Rolling Stone magazine): Hilary Duff's "Why Not" is really bugging me these days. I couldn't believe it when I saw it on TRL. One lyric stuck in my head: "You always dress in yellow when you wanna dress in gold." I heard that and I was like, "Oh, man, what is going on with music these days?" But, hey, whatever floats your boat.Then Hilary responded with this: That's funny. Yeah, that's so hilarious. HAHAHA. Not.I've always respected Michelle Branch and I like her music," Duff said. "I think it's really mean and it makes everybody look ugly to hate on people Ok, Hil, please show me where she said she hated you? Oh, right, because she never said that. and to say mean things. But if she didn't like my song that's fine. You can't make everybody happy." When it was suggested perhaps she didn't mean it, Hilary shot back, "I'm sure she did, if she said it!" Michelle Branch is awesome.
I hate the way she is portrayed, and all that she stands for. I think her success is not based on talent. While she may have talents, acting and singing are not some of them. When she got signed to her record company, she didn't even have to record a demo! I believet they hired her based on the success of Lizzie McGuire. I think that the success of that show has nothing to do with Hilary. It was Lalaine, Adam Lamberg, Jake Thomas, the people that have real talent that made the show successful, but because Hilary had the lead role, all the fame was given to her, not to the people who deserve it.I also think that the fact Hilary got cast as Lizzie had something to do with the fact that her hair is dyed blonde. Would she have gotten the part if her hair wasn't blonde? Somehow, I can't believe that. The media has the idea that perfect girls like the one Lizzie McGuire was, and the one Hilary Duff is portrayed to be have to have blonde hair. I think that Lalaine would have made a much better Lizzie than Hilary ever could, but I blame that on the blonde thing. The success of her album, Metamorhphosis, is only due to the success of Lizzie McGuire, which isn't even her own success. So really, her fame doesn't belong to her, it belongs to the rest of the cast.
I don't know what's up with YM lately. First they put the Olsens on the September issue, then they put Hilary Duff on the October issue. At least Hilary's ok, and I like her enough to tolerate reading it. In the article, I read that she said that she dresses modestly, not showing off her body. Didn't Avril say that? Oh, right, she did! I see Hilary becoming Avril more and more. Last year, for Halloween, she even dressed up like Avril. You need proof? Here:
