Does the phrase "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" mean anything to you? If it does, you are either familiar with The Laziest Men From Mars (a popular internet rock band) or Zero Wing (a game for the Sega Genisis). Zero Wing was brought to America in 1990, and it was a big hit. Although it was translated acuretly, the problem was that it was translated too acuretly. The characters seem to speak in very bad English. Of those famous phrases are "Someone set us up a bomb," "You have no chance to survive make your time," and of course "All your base are belong to us."
The Laziest Men From Mars wrote the song based on this, with the entire intro to Zero Wing spoken in robotic voices and remixed actual music from the game. However, after a big issue brought up by Sega, TLMFM were forced to change to the name to "Invasion of the Gabber Robots." It was still a big hit to many. Don't try looking for albums, TLMFM are only available on the internet.
I got caught up in the fad by the song alone. I found the game Zero Wing online and downloaded it. I cannot play that game to save my life, but the intro alone inspired me to write one story based on the game. So, here's my first shot at Zero Wing. I hope you like it, because it may remain unfinished forever...
