| Chapter 7 Apolo, Dan, Rusty, and Shani had finally arrived at Salt Lake City. They were so excited to be here, but no one was more excited than Apolo, after all this was his first Olympics, and it being on home turf made it even more special. They drove up to the Athlete's Village in vans that picked them up from the airport. They were searched thoroughly by National Guardsmen at the entrance of the Athlete's Village. It took about ten minutes then they were finally cleared to go inside. The van passed many country's houses. Rusty was clicking away with his camera, wanting to get everything on film. The guys were making fun of him since the airport where they took at least half a roll of group photos before actually leaving the airport. His excuse was that he wanted to treasure this moment forever, the guys on the other hand, thought he had to be high on something. The van pulled up to the USA House and all of them filed out of the van. There were so many athletes that already had arrived, that the line to check in was already out the door. "This is going to be a long wait," Rusty said clicking a picture of the long line before unloading his stuff off the van. "At least three to four hours," Coach Ellis said form behind them. Their coaches and them were seperated at the airport in Colorado Springs. Because their travel agent had overbooked the flight, the coaches flew on the first flight while the athletes flew on the second flight. But now they were finally together. "Hey, coach," Shani said giving her a hug. "How was you in flight movie?" "It was great," Coach Ellis said smiling. "You guys look tired and hungry. If you guys want you can go touring around the Village and grab a bite to eat while us coaches will check you in. Then we'll call you on your cellphones to tell you what room you guys are in, okay?" "Sounds great," Apolo said rubbing his stomach. "See you in a bit." "Yep, have fun and don't get into trouble," Coach Ellis said jokingly as she tried to make her way through the crowd. "Yes mother," all the guys said at once as they walked in the opposite direction. "This is so unbelievable," Apolo said looking around at his surroundings. "I just can't believe I'm actually here." "This is so much better than Nagano," Rusty said still clicking away on his camera. "It's something about being at home that makes you feel prouder." "Well, love to chat, but I'm hungry," Dan said as his stomach started to make noise. "Where's the dinner hall?" "It should be just up here," Apolo pointing to a large building a couple blocks down the road, just then he saw four ladies up ahead walking towards them, chatting and laughing. He elbowed Rusty. "Hey, is that who I think it is?" Rusty stopped taking pictures and looked to where Apolo was looking. "I think you're right," Rusty said as they other guys started to look at the ladies. "That's the Dance USA dancers." "They're hotter in person then they are on tv," Shani said as they continued to walk towards them, forgetting that they were starving. "Remember guys act cool," Dan said fixing his collar on his jacket. "Who are you, the Fonz," Apolo said looking at Dan with his collar flipped up as he flipped his collar back down realizing that looked stupid. "Now remember act casual," Rusty said as they came within feet of the ladies. There stomaches were in their throats and there heartrates were going through the roof.
