Chapter 18

The next morning, Kylee was awaken by the sun beating on her cheek. She was still wrapped up in Apolo's arms, but his grip was loser. She carefully unwrapped Apolo's arms so she could stand up and then put his arms back in the same position they were in before. She gave him a kiss on the forehead then went into the kitchen. She poured herself a glass of orange juice and looked out the window above the sink, remembering what had happened last night. She hadn't felt about a guy in that way before in a long time. She knew she was in love, but she still didn't want to admit to herself. Eventhough Apolo was charming, caring, and sweet, she still didn't let her guard down.
She looked away from the window to put the glass that was now empty into the dishwasher when she looked up at the clock on the microwave; 1:30. Oh my god, they were so late. She rushed over to Apolo to wake him up.
"Hey, Apolo, wake up," Kylee said shaking him as he rolled over to see her.
"Hey, you," Apolo said still half asleep.
"We're late, get up,"Kylee said as Apolo sat bolt straight up. "It's 1:30."
"What?!" Apolo said as Kylee ran to the bedrooms. "Hey, you guys wake up!"
"What? What is going on?" Crystal asked as Kylee went into the room.
"It's 1:30, coach is going to kill us," Kylee said trying to wake up Karen.
"Oh my god, we are so dead, we're suppose to be at Park City to watch the ski jumping like, two hours ago," Karen said running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
"Hey, what's with all the noise?" Shani asked with Dan standing next to him, rubbing his eyes.
"We're late and coach is going to kill us," Karen said putting on some makeup as Kylee was fixing her hair. "I wonder why coach didn't call us when we didn't show up?"
"Maybe it's because we turned our cellphones off," Crystal said finding all four of the ladies' cellphones and put them on the dresser. "We are so dead."
"So who wants to wake up the love birds?" Dan asked watching the ladies get ready.
"I'll do it," Kylee said as she finished putting her eye liner on. She walked over to the with its door closed and knocked on it. "Lindsey? Rusty? Wake up!"
Then Lindsey opened the door slightly. "What is it?" she asked wrapped up in sheet.
"Lindsey, it's 1:30, we're late," Kylee said. "So get dressed, we're leaving in fifteen minutes."
"Okay," Lindsey said as she shut the door gently. Then Kylee went back to the girls' room to finish her makeup.
"Looks like someone got lucky last night," Apolo said when Kylee got back.
"2 months," Crystal said brushing her hair.
"He seems like a great guy, make it 4 months," Kylee said.
"Nah, 4 weeks tops," Karen said putting on chapstick.
"What are you guys talking about?" Apolo asked as the guys stood there confused.
"Guessing how long Lindsey and Rusty will be together," Kylee replied.
"We always do this when she hooks up with another guy," Crystal said putting on her shoes. "I just hope she doesn't hurt him cause he seems like a really nice guy."
"Well, anyways, is everyone ready," Crystal said putting her purse over her shoulder and grabbing the keys off the nightstand then leading everyone to the living room. To their surprise, Rusty and Lindsey were waiting for them.
"You guys go ready fast," Kylee said shocked.
"Okay people if we hurry, we can make it to the event we get to try out today," Karen said trying shove everyone to the entry  way as everyone put on their shoes.
"What sport are you guys trying out today?" Apolo asked putting on his tennis shoes.
"Bobsled," Kylee replied tying her shoes.
"Okay people lets move it," Crystal said shoving everyone out of the cabin as she shut the door behind her.
They drove as fast as they could back to Salt Lake City, but they new they were all in big trouble. The only thing they could do was brace themselves for the yelling of their coaches.
