NARRATOR: *another week goes by and he seems able to be up and about again*
NARRATOR: *though he seems to tire more easily*
CIMORENE: *has been sewing an eye patch for him, made of dark blue fabric and pretty stones to outline it* I'm finished!
NARRATOR: (craft check)
CIMORENE: (11)
NARRATOR: Melendar:*smiles*Darling it is beautiful. *playfully*I believe I owe you a dress
CIMORENE: *she chuckles* When we get to Gondor, perhaps we'll discuss a dress.... are you ready to leave now?
NARRATOR: Melendar:If we can return to my island I can easily make one for you, though that is in middle earth...
NARRATOR: Melendar:*nods*Yes, I am ready to go back
CIMORENE: *she smiles and takes his hand, heading for the hallway to find pallando* Are you ready, friend?
NARRATOR: Melendar:But what of my brother? If he is on this side of Arda (the world) then would it not be best to go search now?
NARRATOR: Pallando:Well I am ready...
CIMORENE: Where was he last, and where the heck are we?
NARRATOR: Melendar:We should be on the eastern side of the world and now that I think of it, he preferred the shores of the west. He is most likely there
CIMORENE: Near the Grey Havens?
NARRATOR: Melendar:Anywhere from Gondor to even further north than the havens
CIMORENE: Then we'll search for him on the way West, if that's all right with you
NARRATOR: *he nods*
CIMORENE: Pallando, do you think your bird friend is all right?
CIMORENE: *is walking*
NARRATOR: Pallando:He is fine, i've checked on him
CIMORENE: *she smiles* To the great hulking bird then.... perhaps he found Bard!
NARRATOR: *you three reach the outside of the dark elf caverns*
CIMORENE: *she looks around quietly, whistling for Bard*
NARRATOR: *it is a cloudy day out and with a whistle, pallando summons his friend*
NARRATOR: *bard comes out from around a corner*
CIMORENE: (AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!)
CIMORENE: BARD!!! *she shrieks, running to her beloved friend and throwing her arms around his neck*
NARRATOR: *the eagle comes to pallando and they speak briefly*
NARRATOR: Pallando:*to you*Thank my friend here for searching long and hard for your compaion
NARRATOR: *bard warmly embraces you*
CIMORENE: Oh thank you so much, my lord! Thank you thank you thank you! my friendship is eternally yours!!! *smiles hugely at the pretty bird, not letting go of her horsie*
NARRATOR: *melendar smiles*
CIMORENE: *her happy grin fades as she strokes his warm muzzle* He can't come with us, can he, Pallando. *she speaks in fact, not question*
NARRATOR: Pallando:*confused*Why not?
NARRATOR: Melendar:Certainly not on the eagle
CIMORENE: My lord Eagle cannot carry us all
NARRATOR: Pallando:*matter of factly* Of course not. So then you may ride your horse and my friend will burden myself or Melendar included. He will be pleased to no end that he has such less a burden
CIMORENE: *she blinks quite a few times* We can do that?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*confused at you both*What is going on?
NARRATOR: Pallando:Why could you not ride your horse?
NARRATOR: Pallando:You are still going to Gondor are you not?
CIMORENE: *she smiles at Melendar* The Lord Eagle shouldn't have to carry all three of us. So we can ride Bard and Lord Eagle without tiring anyone out.
CIMORENE: *she glances at Melendar* I must return to Gondor.... and repeat my news to Lord Oromic.... will you come with me....?
NARRATOR: Melendar:Then nothing is wrong?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*almost laughing*Where you go so do I, Cimorene. Remember that
CIMORENE: *she chuckles* I will remember. I'll ride Bard first... Melendar, you should ride on Lord Eagle. Your wounds have not yet healed completely, and it would not help to be bouncing on a horse
NARRATOR: Melendar:*nods affirmatively*I agree and besides you two have much to catch up on.
CIMORENE: *she hugs Melendar gently and pulls herself up on Bard* Pallando, can you fly as low as possible, in case there is trouble?
NARRATOR: Pallando:Then shall we be off? *helps melendar aboard*
NARRATOR: Pallando:As I have found, flying below thirty feet is dangerous due to the gust of wind from flight.
CIMORENE: *she nods* Be safe then.... we head West, yes?
NARRATOR: Pallando:West, yes *wistful*. To the land of kings.
CIMORENE: *she smiles* You'll like King Eldarian
CIMORENE: (right name?)
NARRATOR: (correct indeed, nice)
NARRATOR: (+1 xp)
CIMORENE: (*grins*)
CIMORENE: (woot!)
CIMORENE: *Bard rears and canters off West, Cimorene winding her fingers into his mane and talking in elven*
NARRATOR: *the eagle takes flight from the ground and soars overhead with your friend and your elf*
NARRATOR: (searches net for maps....)
CIMORENE: (lol. Take your time)
CIMORENE: *Fills Bard in on all the juicy info, including her love with melendar*
NARRATOR: *bard is not as surprised as you might think and also tells tales of escaping a hoard of evil men and trolls with the help of Pallando's eagle leading the way*
CIMORENE: *she hugs his neck tightly, revelling in the smell of his fur, whispering her dreads and fears of never seeing him again*
CIMORENE: We need a vacation, Old Friend.....
NARRATOR: *bard very much agrees*
NARRATOR: (great.... the old page i had with the maps no longer exists)
CIMORENE: (great
)
CIMORENE: (I'm going to Bristol on Saturday)
NARRATOR: (i have to guesstimate...)
NARRATOR: (that's cools, am i invited?)
CIMORENE: (*smiles apologetically* Sorry.... I'm going with Chris's family)
NARRATOR: (that's okay, i forgot about that)
CIMORENE: (Guesstimate away)
NARRATOR: (gulp..)
CIMORENE: (I have faith in you)
NARRATOR: *you ride on 5 days into the wilderness of western Galtaire*
NARRATOR: *the land is still green and there are trees to be found, even forests*
CIMORENE: *is ever vigilant for orcs, trolls, goblins, and evil men*
CIMORENE: *and Igiwi*
NARRATOR: *the sun shines bright and well on the land, but there are no people to be found*
NARRATOR: *observe check for the 5 days*
CIMORENE: (14, 12, 12, 12, 13)
NARRATOR: (well i meant 1 that counted for all 5, but okay)
NARRATOR: (they were about the same anyways)
NARRATOR: *things seem as good as they can*
CIMORENE: *luxeriates in the calm ride*
NARRATOR: *melendar seems to be better now, but not quite the same as he was before his injuries*
NARRATOR: *on the 6th day of your journeying pallando signals a stop as he is met by a bird in the air*
NARRATOR: *he and the bird have a conversation*
CIMORENE: *has now tied her up in long pigtails, to be out of her way. She glances upwards, her hand on her staff*
CIMORENE: (Sense power)
NARRATOR: *you see the glint of a sword up in the air from an elfy hand*
NARRATOR: (roll your sense power)
NARRATOR: (and remind me of it's range)
CIMORENE: (120 feet)
NARRATOR: (what's your roll?)
CIMORENE: (13)
NARRATOR: (remember it's basically a magical observe check)
CIMORENE: (I know)
CIMORENE: (I just reread the spell)
CIMORENE: (13)
NARRATOR: (:-()
NARRATOR: *you sense nothing outside your party*
CIMORENE: (pooh)
NARRATOR: *pallando concludes with the bird and lands*
CIMORENE: *urges Bard over to the Eagle and her friends* what's afoot?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*melendar looking to him as well now*I have been informed by our friend the thrush *looks off to the bird flying away* that our path will cross with those of unwanted guests if we continue forth
CIMORENE: Hmm.... is there any way to get around them?
CIMORENE: ("Stand by the Gray Stone when the thrush knocks... and the last light of the setting sun of Durin's Day shall shine upon the keyhole")
NARRATOR: Pallando:If I was informed correctly we have to detour in any other direction we could choose. However I am unframiliar with the territory that could put us on...
NARRATOR: *pallando starts to think*
CIMORENE: (Is this area familiar to me at all?)
NARRATOR: (no way)
CIMORENE: (great)
CIMORENE: (hmmm)
CIMORENE: *looks around* Did the thrust say what kind of unwanted company it was?
NARRATOR: Melendar:I see by the looks of your faces that we are at an impass. I wish I knew the place ahead of us.... *he sours*
NARRATOR: Pallando:The thrush said that the city we were to come near and the lands around it have been sacked utterly by orcs and the other ruff companies they keep
NARRATOR: (*rough)
CIMORENE: *she grimaces* Then most likely the lands around here are riddled with orc encampments. We may as well continue on the way we are going.
NARRATOR: *pallando looks to melendar and melendar just nods back*
NARRATOR: Melendar:Cimorene my dear, why not let me ride bard threw this trial and you stay with the eagle?
CIMORENE: *she thinks* I would rather you and Pallando be safely on Lord Eagle so that you can cover me if things go bad
NARRATOR: Melendar:If that is your wish *does not seem 100% pleased and he moves in close to whisper in your ear*. I will come for you no matter what if this goes ill.
CIMORENE: *she smiles a little* I know... I'm counting on it. *gives him a quick kiss and touches his cheek softly as she mounts up again*
NARRATOR: *he mounts his ride as well*
NARRATOR: Pallando:Then we go forth to whatever awaits
CIMORENE: *she salutes them with her staff and urges Bard forward again*
NARRATOR: *observe*
CIMORENE: (13)
CIMORENE: (brb... go ahead and post)
NARRATOR: *you all go on most of the day until the sun is setting behind distant clouds and it is as this happens that you hear loud quiet talk from above you in the sky*
CIMORENE: (Farspeaking)
CIMORENE: (passed the weariness with a 21)
CIMORENE: (focusing on melendar's ring)
NARRATOR: (jeese, your insane...)
CIMORENE: (lol)
NARRATOR: (speak on)
CIMORENE: <is something wrong, my love?>
NARRATOR: *your pendant speaks in melendars hasted voice*
NARRATOR: can you not hear the warg behind you?!
NARRATOR: *initiative*
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (not bad for you at all)
CIMORENE: (I hate low observe)
NARRATOR: (fix it when you level then;-))
CIMORENE: (I will)
CIMORENE: (You still there?)
NARRATOR: (ya i just had to create the enemy force)
CIMORENE: (lol)
NARRATOR: *you are on a 2 foot wide road threw grass and with brush on either side that rises to about 3 and a half feet*
NARRATOR: (brush=bushes/long grass)
CIMORENE: (gotcha)
NARRATOR: *the light is rapidly dimming*
CIMORENE: (what a great oppurtunity to play with my new spell)
NARRATOR: *the eagle goes down as fast and furiously as possible as a siloutee drops out of it with amazing grace into the brush some 50 feet away*
CIMORENE: ( fixed Chain Lightening)
NARRATOR: (you haven't learned it i thought)
CIMORENE: (wanna hear it before we start, or do I not have it yet)
NARRATOR: (i thought you didn't)
CIMORENE: (guess that answers that question)
CIMORENE: (sounds good)
NARRATOR: (i thought we were gonna make you learn it as normal)
CIMORENE: (yup)
CIMORENE: (continue on)
NARRATOR: (sorry)
CIMORENE: (not a problem)
NARRATOR: *5 orcs spring up from your right some 10 feet away in the brush*
NARRATOR: *2 rush at you and 3 shoot*
CIMORENE: (defense 11)
NARRATOR: *of the charging orcs, only 1 charge actually hits*
NARRATOR: (stupid forest orcs...)

NARRATOR: *observe check*
CIMORENE: (how dense is the forest?)
CIMORENE: (14)
NARRATOR: (no forest just brush and it is dense enough to not see past a few feet from your angle)
NARRATOR: *you hear orcs coming from your left flank as well*
NARRATOR: *the brush is not quite 4 feet tall*
CIMORENE: *Kindles Fire on the brush in front of the three orcs shooting at her*

NARRATOR: *no hits*
CIMORENE: (woot)

NARRATOR: *melendar stalks the one that fled and finishes him*
CIMORENE: *slumps on Bard's neck* Friends.... next time I say not to listen to a kindly thrush, politely hit me
NARRATOR: Pallando:*laughs gently*And this may only be the beggining.
CIMORENE: *she nods* What should we do?
NARRATOR: *melendar rushes up*
CIMORENE: With it being dark, the orcs will only come faster....
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to you interupting*You are alright?
CIMORENE: *she looks at him, smiling a little* I've felt better.....
CIMORENE: (She's three points into Incapacitated)
NARRATOR: Pallando:*nods*We can be far more certain of their presence on us now. There may be no good solution at this point
CIMORENE: *looks about to bleed to death or fall over or both*
CIMORENE: We can backtrack
NARRATOR: *melendar heals you*
NARRATOR: *without a word he casts the spell of healing upon you*
CIMORENE: *she blows him a small kiss with her finger tips*
NARRATOR: *go up 1 wound level and a half*
NARRATOR: *his hands press health in threw your back gently*
NARRATOR: *he seems healed from your kiss*
NARRATOR: (i guess you got hurt from taking the full onslaught of an ambush)
CIMORENE: (yup)
NARRATOR: Melendar:*quietly*Whatever it is we do, we do this first; leave these fires as soon as possible.
CIMORENE: *she nods*
CIMORENE: Why doesn't Lord Eagle spread out ahead of us and the three of us stay on the ground?
NARRATOR: Pallando:We would have to travel far more slowly but it could be done
CIMORENE: Or.... could Lord Eagle carry Bard for a few miles?
NARRATOR: Pallando:He has told me he is very much not certain how easily travel with such an animal could be
NARRATOR: Melendar:Enough, we either move forward or back on this path right now or there shall be no time to debate further *looks to you*
NARRATOR: *the fire burns bright and hot on either side*
NARRATOR: *night settles in*
CIMORENE: *she looks at Bard, her eyes moist* Run, my old Friend..... live free and long.... take the path back towrads the mountains. The grass is sweet, and the water is cool. *she hugs him tightly* Live free..... and happy.
NARRATOR: *bard looks bamboozled*
NARRATOR: Melendar:Why do you say this, Cimorene?
CIMORENE: My old Friend.... your days of battle are long past. I have seen your eyes on these long journies. The forest has been beckoning for quite a while. YOu deserve better than this hard life of mine. I wish you to be free, and safe from the dangers of being my friend.
CIMORENE: *tears pouring down her cheeks*
NARRATOR: *if you wish me gone from you then bring me home*
CIMORENE: *she smiles through her tears* All right, my friend. *mounts up on him* Let's go, boys.... ride hard through the forest.
NARRATOR: *melendar nods and strokes your teary cheeks gently*
CIMORENE: *holds a hand to melendar* Ride with me... Pallando, keep watch from above
NARRATOR: Pallando:*to himeslf*Yes, we cannot stop for anything for the day
NARRATOR: Melendar:I will be by your side
NARRATOR: *melendar looks happy in his eye*
CIMORENE: *she pulls him up behind her as Bard rears and gallops off*
NARRATOR: *pallando catches up quickly atop his eagle and your company rushes a break-neck pace threw the night of the sacked countryside
*
NARRATOR: END
