| As Kayla walked out her door to her car she saw a moving truck going down the street. She watched as it turned down the next street and then the next. It finally stopped at the house directly behind hers. "I wonder who they are. Probably some more people to add to my 'they don't know me, but don't like me' list," Kayla thought to herself sadly. She got into her silver eclipse and drove off to school with the new people in mind. In lunch that day she and her best friends, Sara and Emilee, were talking. Sara knew Kayla's feelings by heart and she knew something was wrong with Kayla. She hadn't said much all period and it was her last day of school. Kayla got in moods like this a lot, because of what some people say to her and the way she had only herself to depend on with her problems. She hardly ever told them her problems unless someone asked. . She would close up and just sit and not tell anyone what was bothering her. Sarah and Emilee were always there to cheer her up and drag it out of her. It seemed to them that they were the only ones who would even try to be there. "Hey girlie, whats up? You seem a bit off today. You gotta cheer up! It is your last day of school in this dump, with this trash," Sarah said jesturing to the 3 three tables behind her and the peope that sat there. It was the "group" that sat there, "Smile a little." "Thank God for that! There really isn't anything wrong though. I was just thinking. On my way to school today there was a moving truck in the house behind mine. I was just wondering who they were and how they will treat me." "Thats what you are worried about?!? Why would they treat any differently than how we do. You never did anything to them. You just stop worring about that. Are any of them cute?"Emilee asked smiling. Kayla cracked a smile at Emilee's last comment. " I'm not sure yet Em. I'm sorry 'bout my moods its just that I am so sick of people judging me and I truly hope they don't. I don't know if I can take anymore of that. I'v had that all my life, and I guess I'm just starting to realize that I will probably be like that for the rest of my life. Also, I think one of the new neighbors is our age. He had blonde hair and looked maybe 19. I have a feeling he will act like everyone else that doesn't really know me. It just makes me so mad!" " Kay, calm down. You don't know who these people are so you can't possibly know how they will feel about you. And we never judged you and I don't think your new neighbors will be as shallow as some of the people here at school either." Sara said and Emilee agreed. "Thanks hun. Your right, but both of you got nothin to worry about. Look at you two. Your both beauty queens and I'm just blah! I don't even know why either of you ever bothered to know me in the first place. The "group" completly ignores you guys cause you hang with me." "Mackayla Lynn! Stop it now. You know that your beautiful too! And you have a wonderful personality that is like no other, so who cares about what the "group" thinks.(the "group" is the popular people). You are the sweetest girl in this school to my knowledge! And the smartest!" Emilee said to Kayla. Sarah completely agreed too. They both knew what a hard life Kayla has had. Her family was really never there for her and because she was real shy, the snobbs in the school never really got to know her. To them it was just easy to make fun or ignore her. She had 3 sisters, but they were never around and seemed to veiw her as a bother. "Ok, I'm not going to argue. You think what you think, I'll know what I know. Well the periods over and now my high school year is too. I have to go now. Have fun in Physics! Have a good school year too! I'll talk to ya'll later. Bye!" "Hey, just because today is your last day of school, while we common people have a whole semester left, doesn't mean you have to bragg about it!" " Bye Sara, I'll call you tonight! You too Emmie! You know I love you guys!" |
| When Kayla got home nobody was there, as usual, so she decided to take her dog, Ike, for a walk. Kayla got to the park and sat down. She had a lot of things on her mind. "Look at all those couples. They all look so happy. I don't think I am privillaged to be that happy or it would have already happened. I guess I am just destined to be lonely my whole life," Kayla thought sadly. She got up and started around the other half of the block. When she reached the house, or should I say mansion, with a moving truck in it she stopped. There were 2 guys moving the furniture and one sitting down. They all looked pretty cute to her. "I wonder who they are? They do look kinda familiar." As Kayla thought this as she walked past the house. Ike decided he wanted to have some fun so he grabbed onto one of the chair legs the curly haired boy was carrying. " Hey what the heck! Let go!" " Ike NO! Let the chair go. Its not a toy. Bad boy!" The other blonde was watching this scene from the porch. He found it rather funny! " Hey Jus, do you need some help with that. I'v heard you called some pretty funny names before but never 'Bad Boy' " "Shut up Lance! This crazy dog attacked the chair. And just to let you know the dog is what this girl called a Bad Boy, so can you keep your smart comments to your self and help!" "Ikie come on we have to go home! Come on baby lets go," Kayla said as she finally got Ike to let go. She was totally embarrassed! "Way to go Kay! Meet your new neighbors by ruining their furniture,"Kayla though wryly. "Oh I am so sorry about my dog. He can be kinda hard to handel around strangers. (Ike was a reddish brown great dane, they are huge dogs) " It's okay miss. Justin here is a little paranoid around dogs thats all. Your dog didn't do any harm." "Are you sure? I live behind you if you are moving in this house. I'll pay for the damage if you want. Ike likes the backyard so you will be seeing him alot." "Oh well thats cool. Yes, me and my bandmat-, I mean roomates are moving in here. By the way I am Lance and this rude lump is Justin. There are 3 others too. They are inside. Say hello to our new neighbor Justin!" "Well I'm Kayla Simms. This is Ike. It's nice to have some new faces around here." "Oh. Hi I'm Justin. Do you always walk your dog over here. He's not so bad, but you may be a problem if your over here too often!" "Justin!! How rude can you be. She didn't do anything and she doesn't know who we are," Lance hissed into Justin's ear. "Oh sorry man! I thought she was being sarcastic about the new faces! Kay-? Where did she go?" "Justin you jerk she left! She was cute too!" Kayla heard Justin's comment. She was truly hurt. She thought that they seemed like good people and maybe possible friends. She also thought the blond with the intense green eyes was kinda cute and funny. "There goes another chance with a guy! WHAT is wrong with me! I didn't say more than one or 2 words and Justin jumped down my throat! I just don't get it," Kayla thought as she entered her house realizing she was sobbing. |
