Sadie Caliber is the main character in the series. Young and brave, Sadie (Whose name can also be spelled as Sedy, Sedon, and Sedi) can't let the unconscious girl he finds in the snow freeze to death. He protects her at the cost of his own life, and then pledges to help her find her lost memories. Sadie is medium-size, with blue hair, and carries the sword of his father who fought for their freedom before him. His father--ailing, but extremely perceptive--defeated the tyrant Bashua and saved Fearudo many years before. Sadie carries the sword and his father's inherited skill and reputation everywhere.
Miu (Myuu, May) is a girl with a mysterious past. Found nude in the snow by a young swordsman (Sadie), she searches desperately to find out who she is and cure the amnesia that she suffers from. She holds great hidden power--it is said that she could bring apart the coming of the Dragoon and the end of the world. However, while her memories are gone she can only subconsciously use her powers to protect Sadie, who she has fallen in love with.
Millie is Sadie's younger sister, a pigtailed and pink-haired girl with a sense for adventure. Millie has healing powers that have come in handy, especially in sadie's case, but her quick tongue and bottomless pit of a stomach get her into trouble. She develops a crush on Rain upon sighting him, but Rain seems to treat her more like a kid sister. However, she has gotten the group out of many scrapes, and she continues to tag along on the quest to help Miu.
Lillith McGini (Riris) is a young sorceress and swindler with a personal grudge against Bashua. The destruction of her town and her parents' deaths have made her adapt and survive, with plans of fighting the Empire. Lilith is a firey readhead, witty and clever, and she knows how to get what she wants. She and Bubb are partners and travel together. They reluctantly join the group when Sadie chases them down after they swindle Rain in a card game.
Bubb Jesil is Lillith's silent, surly companion. Gangly and tomboyish, Bubb could easily be mistaken for a young boy. She's small, with green hair and eyes hidden behind her bang and its shadow, and has a rather menacing smirk. Bubb fights skillfully with throwing knives, and seems to look up to Lillith.
