She was trained under the late Nana Yao Opare Dinizulu, the Omanhene of the Akans in the Americas. Described by him as being his "right hand" while he was living. Works as a head priestess, training priests, continuing the weekly "Akom" ceremonies, maintaining ties with other Akan houses, being a repository of the history of the African American Akans in the Americas and being a person of impeccable character.

He consistenly stresses the fact that Ifa is not limited to the Yoruba ethnicity alone. He encourages others to investigate the presence of Fa in Iko Awusi, Idoromu Awuse, Meereteelu, Iwonron, and Mesin Akaruba.

  35. Iyalorisha Melvina Rodney [Trinidad and Tobago] Lineage-? Orisa-? Head of the Orisha fraternity in Trinidad and Tobago by the Ooni of Ife when he visited this country several years ago. Well into her eighties, she has pioneered the work of Orisha in this land. She is the spiritual head of the Orisha Council of Elders in Trinidad and the spiritual God-daughter of the world renowned 'Papa Neezer' of South Trinidad.
