Dear Sirs:  I am the oldest living descendent of Patrick Hourigan whose name is spelled several different ways.  The family now spells their name Hourigan.  Will you please give me the location of this 100 acres land grant.  His body was buried in the plot known as the Hourigan grave yard about 10 miles from Lebanon, Ky on what is known as the Lebanon and Danville road.  Enclosed find a photostatic copy from the Archives Dept. Washington D.C., which you will please return to me in the self-addressed stamped envelope.

HOURIGAN, MARY STELLA (HOCKER)

Mrs. Stella Hocker Hourigan, 78, widow of J. Ray (Spencer Ray) Hourigan, former well known Marion County farmer, died last Wednesday night at her home in Lexington, where she had made her home
since 1951.  Her husband died in 1956.  Mrs. Hourigan was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Tinnely Hocker, long deceased.  She was born and reared in Marion County, and was formerly a member of St. Augustine parish.  In Lexington, she was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. 

Survivors include a son, S. Ray Hourigan, Lexington; 3 daughters, Mrs. J. Tom O'Daniel, Lebanon, Mrs. Joe Lane of Lexington, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Bush Nichols, Danville; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; also, a stepsister, Mrs. Jennie Nelson of Lebanon. 

The body was brought to Bosley Funeral Home.  Funeral services were conducted, with Solemn Requiem Mass at St. Augustine's Church, at 10:30am Saturday by Msgr. Joseph D. Gettelfinger, the Rev. Joseph Hamilton and the Rev. Robert DeWitt.  Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery. 

The pallbearers were 8 grandsons, Gerald, Bernard, William Edward, R. H., Ignatius, Tommy Ray and Bobby O'Daniel and Bush Nicols, Jr.  (Her St. Augustine Baptismal record calls her mother, Susan Tennelly)

Mrs. Sandra Hourigan, who has just returned from a one year's stay in Germany while her husband was in the service, has returned to Lebanon.  She will start working on Wednesday, June 19, at Rose's Beauty Shop.  She had formerly been employed at the Bob-Dot Beauty Shop and Ettie's Beauty Shop here in Lebanon.
O'DANIEL, THOMAS GERALD, SR.

Gerald O'Daniel, Sr., 55, of 121 Park Heights, Lebanon, died at 4:15pm, March 24 at Louisville Jewish Hospital.  Mr. O'Daniel was the owner of Hagan O'Daniel Pharmacy, the Kard Korner and Silent Brook Farms.  He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy and an avid beekeeper.  His father, Joseph Thomas O'Daniel, preceded him in death. 

Survivors include: his wife, Toni Peake O'Daniel; his mother, Mrs. Louise HOURIGAN O'Daniel of Lebanon; one son, Dr. Gerald O'Daniel, Jr. of Louisville; one daughter, Miss Katie O'Daniel of Louisville; three sisters, Mrs. Jack "Rita Ann" Beaven of St. Mary, Mrs. William "Linda" Mattingly of Nebraska and Mrs. Charles S. "Peggy" Jenkins of Brandenburg; six brothers, Ray, Bernard and Eddie of Louisville, Tommy Ray and Bobby of St. Mary and Ignatius O'Daniel of Loretto. 

Funeral services were conducted at 11am, March 27 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Rev. Patrick Dolan officiated.  Active pallbearers were Dr. Robert H. Wilber, Robbie Wilber, Pat Mattingly, Dr. J. W. Ratliff, Bill Parman and Monty Parman.  Honorary pallbearers were Theo Walker, Dr. William P. Duley, Charles Smith, Ham Mattingly, Gene Spragens, Jr., Dr. Arthur Steele, Robert Spragens, Sr., Wesley Daugherty and George Lanham.  Bosley Funeral
